Who are we looking for?

All youth who are interested in digitalisation efforts across various sectors including the Arts and Heritage, Community and Religion, Sports, Youth and Charity.

Eligibility criteria

  • You must be a Singapore citizen or Permanent Resident
  • Open to all youth who are:
    • Recent graduates from ITE, polytechnics and universities
    • Young working adults up to 35 years old (as of 2021) who are seeking learning & development opportunities
    • Available for full-time placement opportunities (ranging from 6 to 12 months) at NYC-partnered host organisations

DIGITAL DESIGNER

 

Overview

  • You possess, or are interested in developing, skills and knowledge to ideate and create online content to engage the organisation’s target audience

Responsibilities*

  • Conduct research
  • Write and edit engaging articles
  • Design appealing graphics and infographics
  • Develop and edit video and podcast content

DIGITAL MARKETER

 

Overview

  • You possess, or are interested in developing, skills and knowledge to plan digital marketing campaigns that promote the organisation’s brand and cause, and manage the organisation’s digital media platforms

Responsibilities*

  • Plan and manage digital marketing campaigns, including measuring and reporting of performance
  • Manage organisation’s social media presence and engage online communities
  • Utilise search engine optimisation to boost online visibility

Overview

  • You possess, or are interested in developing, skills and knowledge in specific technical areas, e.g. data analytics, enterprise systems, IT infrastructure

  • Provide technical expertise and support to the organisation

The pace of digital transformation is expected to accelerate further with the advancement and adoption of digital technology by individuals, communities and businesses locally and globally.

With YouthTech, you can harness the energy of our youths in your digitalisation efforts, while supporting them in their journey to learn and grow.

You can also tap on expertise to better support your digitalisation efforts, and build a pipeline of workforce and volunteers for the future.

What will be provided?

Organisations will be able to enhance their digitalisation efforts in their business operations with the support of YouthTech Trainees and Expert Partners.

What type of digital projects are supported under YouthTech?

YouthTech Trainees and Expert Partners will assist with selected digital solutions under 3 areas of opportunities*:

  • DIGITAL DESIGN. Enhance service/programme delivery through digital content and experiences that connect with your service users/target audience
    • User Research. Study service user behaviour and understand pain points to incorporate digital means into existing services/programmes (e.g. virtual tutoring)
    • Content Development. Leverage human insights to create multimedia (e.g. visuals, copywriting, blog posts, podcasts, videos) that resonates
    • Virtual Events. Create and execute interactive events (e.g. talks) that bring people together around shared interests
  • DIGITAL MARKETING. Leverage different digital channels to engage stakeholders and achieve organisational objectives
    • Social Media Marketing. Use advertising, audience targeting and analytics tools on platforms like Instagram, LinkedIn and Twitter to grow brand awareness and drive action
    • Customer Relationship Management (CRM). Consolidate all stakeholders under one central platform like HubSpot or Salesforce and reach them with powerful email marketing campaigns. Can be applied to Donors & Volunteers too
  • TECHNICAL SUPPORT. Integrate digital solutions into corporate functions to raise productivity, automate manual work and reduce operating costs
    • Digital Workplace. Use devices and software like Cloud, G Suite and teleconferencing to facilitate remote working and improve internal processes such as communications and data sharing
    • Enterprise Solutions. Use SaaS (Software as a service) to enhance and automate specific functions like Accounting, Payments and Payroll
    • Data Analytics. Analyse and visualise data from all aspects of your operations and monitor performance, identify trends and actionable insights

Who are we looking for?

  • Want to improve their service and offerings through digital means
  • Are keen to host youth to help them in their digitalisation efforts*
  • Demonstrate commitment in:
    • Sourcing digital project funding (if relevant)
    • Assigning staff to oversee project development
    • Establishing learning outcomes for youth during placements
  • Will partner NYC to determine needs, scope, project deliverables and duration
  • Can map out clear roles and responsibilities, including project work arrangements and schedules

*Candidates will be screened by NYC and may be interviewed by Host Organisations during selection process

Who are we looking for?

Expert Partners with relevant digital-driven service offerings and are willing to conduct training sessions in the following areas:

  • Consultancy: Identify gaps and assess digital needs
  • Solutioning: Scope digital solutions, project deliverables and manpower requirements to spur digitalisation efforts
  • Training: Develop capabilities and mentor youth to deliver digital solutions

Eligibility criteria

  • Registered/incorporated in Singapore
  • Operates in community and social sectors, including non-government organisations (NGOs), non-profit organisations (NPOs), social enterprises and small and medium-sized commercial entities

Can an expert partner train and provide placement opportunities at the same time?

Yes, an expert partner can provide:

  1. training,
  2. expert advice or consultancy,
  3. digital project management (i.e. Scope and develop digital projects, deploy youth) and be an organisation to host youth at the same time.
