YouTube TV now supports 4K streaming and offline downloads
The new features come at a price, however.
You can now stream your favourite shows on YouTube TV in 4K, thanks to YouTube’s new 4K Plus feature.
Available now, 4K Plus will allow users to enjoy one of the best resolutions, with a compatible 4K enabled TV or streaming device.
This applies to major sports events on YouTube, including live content from ESPN. The 4K Plus add-on package also includes unlimited streams on your home wifi and the ability to download shows to watch offline.
As the basic YouTube TV package only allows three simultaneous streams, households with more family members can now get unlimited streams at the same time with the 4K Plus add-on.
Furthermore, you can also save recordings of your favourite shows on YouTube TV to your mobile phone or tablet and watch them offline.
However, all these come with an additional cost of US$19.99 (S$26.80) per month, on top of existing YouTube TV subscriptions.
New users of YouTube TV can get a one-month free trial and a price of $9.99 per month for one year.
YouTube TV is also adding 5.1 Dolby audio capabilities for all YouTube TV subscribers.
Users will be able to enjoy movies with better surround sound audio. More details about this feature will roll out in the coming weeks.
