Wrap up 2016: Five totally #WTH moments of the year
Remember that time when Kim Kardashian got robbed? Yeah, what the heck right?
Every year has its fair share of happenings that would leave us screaming: “What the heck!”
2016 has officially taken the cake because of these five totally #WTH moments that left us shook, cackling, and gagging.
1. When Joseph Schooling took home the first gold Olympic medal for Singapore
Schooling has been continuously talked about ever since his historic gold medal win on Aug 13. But hey, it was hard work and he deserves a heck of recognition.

From the minute he won, Singaporeans went cray. Everyone updated their social media accounts with congratulatory messages on that eventful Saturday morning.

We even mobbed him at the airport and his victory tour when he returned to Singapore.
2. Reality television star Kim Kardashian was robbed in Paris
Kim Kardashian’s life was changed on Oct 3 when masked attackers barged into her hotel room and threatened her at gunpoint. They bound and gagged Kim, who was only wearing a shower robe, and proceeded to take over S$15 million (US$18 million) worth of jewellery.
Now, this piece of juicy Hollywood news had our bones rattling because of how absurd the robbery was. The entire nightmare seemed as though it was taken out of a movie. Worse of all, the attackers knew that she was alone in her hotel room through her Snapchat story.
Who knew such an innocent app could cause such trauma?
3. Senior Minister Josephine Teo said you don't need a lot of space to do the nasty
The senior minister’s candid remarks on Oct 12 about sub-par Singaporean birth rates either made you #LOL or rubbed you the wrong way. I was literally tearing up from laughing my butt off as I read the news.
As expected, her comments sparked tons of comments and generated plenty of memes online. Most youths felt she was a tad insensitive towards the other concerns they had, such as rising costs of housing and healthcare.

4. Vine will be shutting down after four years
Everyone loved the short form video format that Vine marvellously introduced to the world in 2012. But on Oct 27, Twitter announced the closure of one of the most influential social media platforms of our generation.
Most of us were left in shock. Why did it have to close down now? A pity, considering how popular Viners, like Liza Koshy, have gone commercial and were making money from the platform.

Let us all hope that our favourite Viners will move to YouTube so that we can continue to enjoy their hilarious antics.
Also, go on and download your favourite vines before they disappear very soon.
5. Donald Trump is now the President-elect of the United States
This has been talked about to death, over and over again by so many media outlets that I just have one thing left to say…
What. The. Heck.
