World University Expo to take place at Suntec Convention Centre on Dec 10
Prospective students can learn about degree and scholarship options from over 50 universities worldwide.
The World University Expo will take place on Saturday (Dec 10) at the Suntec Convention Centre. The event involves over 50 universities from Australia, the United Kingdom, New Zealand, Switzerland, the United States and Canada.
Prospective students can find out more about the 48,000 scholarship options available and apply to the universities on the spot at the expo. They can also get up to $500 waived off their application fees.
There are three course options for students looking to get a bachelor’s degree abroad: direct entry into a bachelor’s degree, the International Year 1 Program and the Foundation Program.
For direct entry, students can bring along their academic results to verify if they meet the entry requirements and learn more about the application procedure and credit exemptions for over 50 courses including accounting, engineering and the humanities. This option is for A-Level, polytechnic and International Baccalaureate (IB) diploma programme students.
The International Year 1 Program allows students who do not qualify for the university of their choice to enter a 4 to 12-month long program, after which they will continue to the second year of university. Only certain universities from the UK and Australia offer this Program. This option is also for A-Level, Polytechnic and IB students.
Similarly, the Foundation Program is a 4 to 12-month-long foundation program, after which students will enter Year 1 of their chosen university. This option is for Secondary 4 and 5 students, and they will have to bring along their prelim or O/N Level results to apply. Only some universities in Australia, the UK and New Zealand offer this program.
The universities at the expo also accept applications for a master’s degree from those who already hold a bachelor’s degree.
Students who pre-register for the event now via their website may enjoy a complimentary 30-minute counselling session with senior counsellors prior to the event.
The World University Expo will take place from 12pm to 6.30pm at Suntec Convention Hall 331. Students are encouraged to bring their relevant academic results, passport, and their parents to the event to discuss their options.
