WhatsApp introduced a new feature that allows users to access their account across multiple phones and devices at the same time.

Similar to linking WhatsApp on web browsers, tablets and desktops, the new feature lets users link their primary phone with up to four additional devices at the same time.

Each linked phone will connect to WhatsApp independently. This will safeguard users’ personal messages, media, and calls using end-to-end encryption.

This feature can also be used by small business owners as additional employees can respond to customers directly from their phones under the same WhatsApp Business account.

WhatsApp started rolling out the update globally and the feature will be available to users in the coming weeks.

WhatsApp will also be introducing a more accessible way to link to companion devices in the near future.

Rather than having to scan a QR code, users can enter their phone number on WhatsApp Web to receive a one-time code, which can then be used on their phones to enable device linking.
