Netflix Singapore’s top 10 list the past week had six movies and five TV shows earning their spot for the first time.

The animated comedy Despicable Me 2 was one such title. Former supervillain Gru (Steve Carell) is now concentrating on being a full-time dad to the three orphans he has adopted, but he is called into action by Agent Lucy Wilde (Kristen Wiig) and the Anti-Villain League to investigate the theft of a powerful serum that could wreak havoc on the world.

Contrasting the jovial tone of Despicable Me 2, 2022’s Texas Chainsaw Massacre also got a spot on the list. Acting as a sequel to the 1974 classic slasher film, a gaggle of twenty-something-year-olds look to breathe new life into a Texas ghost town almost 50 years after the events of the first massacre.

Unfortunately for them, they encounter Leatherface (Mark Burnham), the legendary killer who wears a mask of human skin.

Action thrillers Line Walker, Fistful of Vengeance, horror film The Invisible Man and documentary Downfall: The Case Against Boeing complete the films that got their first time on the list.

Action thriller 13 Hours, romantic comedy Tall Girl 2, South Korean romantic comedy Love and Leashes and true-crime documentary The Tinder Swindler have all returned to the list with the swindler still at number one for the third week in a row.

For TV shows, the Inventing Anna: Limited Series has dethroned the first season of horror series All of Us Are Dead for the top spot.

Japanese anime Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba: Entertainment District Arc has a spot on the list for a third time and Taxi Driver has reached the list an eighth time along with Bulgasal: Immortal Souls: Season 1.

One show that has come to the list for the first time is Love Is Blind: Season 2. In this dating reality show, 30 men and women hope to find love and are put in different “pods” where they can talk to each other but not see each other. They then get engaged, all before they are able to meet in person.

The second season premiered on Feb 11 and will conclude on Feb 25.
