What’s on Netflix Singapore in October 2023
Highlights include the return of two Netflix original series, ‘Lupin’ and ‘Big Mouth’.
Gear up for an array of thrilling adventures, captivating storylines and gripping suspense, as Netflix has it all in its lineup of new releases for next month.
Here are five shows to catch this October:
1. Strong Girl Nam-soon
Serving as a spin-off to the popular 2017 K-drama Strong Girl Bong-soon, Strong Girl Nam-soon follows a gifted young woman with superhuman strength who returns to Korea in search of her birth family – only to find herself entangled in a messy drug case.
Nam-soon, who first went missing when she was a kid in Mongolia, will join forces with her mother and grandmother – who also have superhuman strength – and put her skills and wits to the test in this crime-comedy series launching on Oct 7.
2. Big Mouth: Season 7
The raunchy, coming-of-age animated sitcom’s penultimate seventh season returns on Oct 20, and will follow the teenage students of Bridgeton Middle School as they progress up to high school.
Audiences can watch on as the familiar characters are faced with a new school, new friends, new adversaries, and new Hormone Monsters in this season of Big Mouth. The series is rated R21.
Lee Doo-na, a top K-pop idol, suddenly retires and moves to a share house near a university. There, she crosses paths with ordinary college student Lee Won-jun, and they become roommates.
Won-jun continues to navigate life and school while dealing with a unique predicament – he’s living with a beautiful former K-pop idol, and things are progressing fast.
Starring Bae Suzy as Doo-na and Yang Se-jong as Won-jun, audiences can keep their eyes peeled for this swoon-worthy K-drama, coming Oct 20.
4. Lupin: Part 3
Returning on Oct 5 is the highly anticipated third installment of French mystery-thriller series, Lupin. It picks up where Part 2 left off: France’s most wanted thief Assane Diop (Omar Sy) is still on the run from the police.
However, when the media and police go after Claire, Assane’s ex, and Raoul, their son, Assane is forced to plan his most intense heist yet.
He returns to Paris to offer them a proposal: leave France and start a new life elsewhere – but old foes are eager to thwart his plans.
5. The Fall of the House of Usher
Ending off in true Halloween spirit, viewers can have a go at Netflix’s original gothic horror drama series, The Fall of the House of Usher.
Loosely based on Edgar Allan Poe’s short story of the same name, the story follows two ruthless siblings, Roderick and Madeline Usher, whose pharmaceutical company empire begins to crumble when their heirs mysteriously die one by one.
Those interested in this dark, bone-chilling miniseries can look forward to its Oct 12 premiere on Netflix.
