What to expect at SIT Open House 2023 on Jan 14 and 15 at Suntec
Singapore Institute of Technology’s open house will include talks and panel discussions about degree programmes.
Singapore Institute of Technology (SIT) will hold its SIT Open House 2023 on Jan 14 and 15 at Suntec Singapore Convention and Exhibition Centre, Level 3, as well as online.
Prospective students will have the chance to discover the university’s suite of degree programmes and experience how SIT provides a holistic applied learning education, according to the school’s website.
Running from 10am to 6pm on both days, the open house will include talks and panel discussions by SIT professors and staff and hands-on workshops and classes.
Here are some things you can look forward to at SIT Open House 2023:
Talks and panel discussions by staff
The talks and panel discussions on chemical engineering, pharmaceutical engineering and computing science will provide more information about SIT’s degree programmes.
There will also be talks on The Future of Aerospace for those considering a career in the industry, and What is Holistic Admissions for prospective students to better understand how SIT selects students.
Staff and professors will also share their expertise at the panel discussions ranging from Future Trends in the Internet of Things and Cloud Computing, to Physiotherapy Training and Profession in Singapore.
Workshops and classes for a taste of student life
The workshops and classes will offer a better idea of what the degree programme entails, letting participants ask questions and find out more about what it is like to be part of the SIT community.
These include disciplines such as user experience and game design, and digital communications and integrated media.
Classes available to sign up for include Visual Design, Demystifying Autonomous Mobile Robots and The Power of Hand X-Rays.
Registration for the physical open house and the optional workshops, classes, panel discussions and talks can be found on SIT’s website.
The first 200 registrants will receive a $20 GrabFood voucher. To qualify, registrants will have to attend at least one interactive live session during the physical SIT Open House 2023.
For the Academic Year 2023 (AY2023), SIT will roll out more programmes with the new Term-In-Term-Out (TITO) pathway, where students spend at least a trimester every year in the workplace.
SIT will also launch a Minor in Environmental Sustainability for undergraduates of selected programmes, such as the Bachelor of Engineering with Honours in Electrical Power Engineering.
