We tried bubble tea brand Dont Yell At Me’s signature menu
The store will open on Oct 29 at Orchard Central.
Bubble tea lovers, rejoice! There’s a new store opening in Orchard Central: Dont Yell At Me specialises in hand-shaken drinks made with premium ingredients, and their menu has far more than just yummy boba drinks.
Founded by Taiwanese singer and actress Yako Chan, Dont Yell At Me’s concept is meant to reflect how exhausting the daily grind can be, and be a serene spot for people who need to get away from it all.

When we went down to check out the store, we tried five of their most well-loved drinks, and one special blend made just for the Singaporean crowd.
Here are our recommendations:
If you need a quick pick-me-up, try their lychee drinks. Their cherry blossom and lychee sparkling water is a lot more flavorful than the label of sparkling water might lead you to believe, and is extra tasty with their coconut jelly topping. The grapefruit and lychee tea was my personal favourite, and sweet without being cavity-inducingly sugary.

If you’re looking for something to savour as you wind down, their milk teas and coffees might be the way to go. The cherry blossom thé au lait was concocted especially for the Singaporean audience, and is comforting without needing to be sweet. A tiramisu café au lait may seem like an odd choice when winding down, but the slight bitter notes mixed with the thick milk definitely make it a drink to be savoured, and put some spring back into your step.

If you’re a fan of more traditional tea flavours, then check out their old master formulas. The osmanthus oolong tea and winter melon chrysanthemum tea maintain strong flavour profiles without being overwhelming or bitter, and pair well with the cafe’s snacks.
The store sells baked goods from The Bake Vault, including a decadent fudge brownie and a chewy cookie made with ruby chocolate chips. They also have seasonal items, such as the Halloween special ‘Eye See You’ cookie that’s both sweet and tart.

The reason Dont Yell At Me offers such a wide range of drinks, and even food unlike other beverage brands, is because it aims to be a place where people can spend their time peacefully, without worrying about work or other obligations. Its position in a quiet corner of Orchard Central means that customers can take a seat and relax, or people-watch if they’re inclined to.
Their drinks are made with that philosophy in mind, and are meant to be ‘almost guilt free’. The flavours come from fruit juices and the essence of the ingredients, and there are no artificial syrups.
So if you’re looking for a place to unwind, refresh yourself, or just try something new, you can drop by Dont Yell At Me. The store opens on Oct 29.
