Walk-ins welcomed at 11 community vaccination centres offering Moderna vaccine, no booking required

Individuals who have not been vaccinated can now walk into 11 community vaccination centres offering the Moderna vaccine with no prior appointment needed, announced the Ministry of Health (MOH) on Monday (Aug 2).

All Singaporeans, permanent residents and long-term pass holders aged 18 and above who have yet to receive their first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine are eligible to walk in for their Moderna vaccine jab.

In addition, seniors aged 60 and above are also eligible to walk into any vaccination centre, polyclinic or participating Public Health Preparedness Clinic to receive their shots without an appointment.

The 11 community vaccination centres offering the Moderna vaccine are located at Buona Vista, Hong Kah North, Kebun Baru, Kolam Ayer, Marsiling, Potong Pasir, Punggol 21, Radin Mas, Tampines East, Woodlands and Yew Tee community clubs.

“Vaccination remains a key enabler in our fight against COVID-19,” MOH said.

The Moderna vaccine is one of the two vaccines approved under the national vaccination programme. Another vaccine is the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine, which is the only one approved for children under the age of 18.

As of Saturday (Jul 31), Singapore has administered about 7.5 million doses of COVID-19 vaccines. About 61 per cent of Singapore residents have also been fully vaccinated.

Nearly 4.3 million people have received at least the first dose of the vaccine, of whom about 3.3 million have undergone the entire vaccination programme. 

As part of Singapore’s efforts to fight against COVID-19, the nation plans to fully vaccinate two-thirds of its population by National Day.
