Pokémon fans can now continue gaming even when they are asleep with the upcoming Pokémon Sleep app.

The Pokémon Sleep app will record and measure sleep, and players can play the game simply by placing their phones by their pillow while they sleep.

The player’s adventure takes place on a small island where they will be carrying out research on how Pokémon sleep. More Pokemon will appear around Snorlax as the user sleeps, encouraging players to “rest to their very best”.

Players can look forward to waking up every morning to find Pokémon that sleep in similar ways gathering around Snorlax, a Pokémon character.

Each Pokémon will also have its own sleep styles, and players can discover Pokémon with the same sleep styles and complete their sleep style dex.

Plans for the sleep-tracking game were announced four years ago, and The Pokémon Company recently confirmed its launch for summer 2023.

Players can also get the Pokémon GO Plus +, a device that uses Bluetooth Low Energy technology, to link to Pokémon Sleep and Pokémon GO smart device apps. The device features Pikachu singing lullabies and acting as a morning alarm, unlocking more sounds as players sleep more.

By linking the Pokémon GO Plus + with Pokémon GO, players can also go on Special Research which allows them to catch a Snorlax with a nightcap.

The Pokémon GO Plus + is now available for pre-purchase on the Nintendo site and will be released on Jul 14, 2023.
