UNO game show being developed to celebrate card game’s 50th anniversary
It will be developed with the help of The Price Is Right producer John Quinn.
A reality game show based on the popular card game UNO is in the works.
As part of UNO’s 50th anniversary, The UNO Gameshow will be developed by Mattel Television, with the help of producers Ben Silverman, Howard T Owens, Greg Lipstone and John Quinn.
However, a release date has yet to be announced.
The upcoming unscripted reality show will pit four teams of contestants against each other in a battle to become the UNO champion. It will involve audience participation, physical challenges, trivia games and more.
“UNO is a beloved game that has been entertaining people worldwide for generations,” said producers Silverman and Owens.
“We are excited to team with Mattel and John Quinn to translate the game for television, and think The UNO Gameshow will be perfect for family viewing.”
Currently available in more than 80 countries, Mattel has recently announced several new versions of the classic game.
On top of the UNO mobile app, they include UNO Nothin’ But Paper, the first UNO deck to be 100 per cent recyclable, as well as UNO Showdown, which turns UNO into a card-shooting smackdown.
