UNIQLO Orchard Central launches new Custom Corner; offering embroidery, repair services

Looking to add more personality to your UNIQLO basics? You can now do so at the new Custom Corner @ Orchard Central Global Flagship store, which launched on Monday (Sep 26).

Part of the store’s expansion “to make LifeWear more personal and unique to shoppers”, the Custom Corner offers customisation services such as embroidery and printing.

Here’s a look at the three services available:

With the new embroidery service, customers can choose monochromatic icons, coloured icons or text to embroider on either the Uniqlo U AIRism Cotton Crew Neck Oversized T-shirt or the Dry Pique Short Sleeve Polo Shirt.

The shirts must be purchased at regular price to be eligible for the service. Each use of the embroidery service will cost $10.

Customers can select a design from local and global collections to personalise their UNIQLO items. Those who want something more unique can submit their own designs for printing, subject to UNIQLO’s terms and conditions.

The items that can be personalised include the Long Sleeve Adult T-shirt ($39.90), the Short Sleeve Adult T-shirt ($29.90), the Kids T-shirt ($24.90), the Mini Tote Bag ($29.90) and Regular Tote Bag ($39.90).

Repair services are available for pocket tears, loose hems, broken belt loops, split seams, fallen buttons, and holes. These services will also be available at the RE:UNIQLO Studio at UNIQLO 51@AMK, which was the first studio to be opened. Each repair per item will be charged at $5.

The studio was set up in partnership with Haute Alteration, a social enterprise that empowers marginalised women in repair services.

In line with the World Repair Day in October, UNIQLO Singapore will also host workshops at the RE.UNIQLO Studio. More details about the workshops will be revealed closer to the date.

Additionally, UNIQLO will also launch the UNIQLO Flower booth on level one of the store from Sep 30 to Oct 20.

It will offer bespoke flower arrangement services at $5.90 for one stalk and $14.90 for three stalks. 

Customers can choose from seasonal flowers including roses, carnations and gerbera. The price is inclusive of filler flowers and wrapping services. For larger bouquets, the prices will be combined (i.e. A bouquet of 10 flowers will be charged at $14.90 x 3 + $5.90).
