Underground pedestrian link connecting Funan to City Hall MRT station opens
Artworks by local artists will be showcased at the pedestrian link next year as part of Singapore Art Week 2022.
Those going to Funan for some Christmas shopping can now get to the mall without worrying about getting drenched in rain, or sweat from the sun.
A 100m sheltered pedestrian walkway that links the mall to City hall MRT opened on Tuesday (Dec 21), CapitaLand – the parent company for Funan, said in a news release.
The underground pedestrian link also improves Funan’s connectivity for both shoppers and working executives to other destinations like Raffles City and Saint Andrew’s Cathedral.
Apart from providing a more convenient way to enter the mall, the pedestrian link will also serve as a location to showcase local artworks for Singapore Art Week (SAW) 2022.
Funan is organising Creative Intersections: In The Year Of The Tiger, their second art-meets-retail programme where artists collaborate with brands, as part of the SAW 2022.
Art lovers and shoppers can enjoy the artworks created by visual artists, illustrators and even fashion photographers in the pedestrian link.
The artworks will be showcased from Jan 14, 2022 to Feb 13, 2022.
