TraceTogether app or token mandatory for entry to cinemas from Oct 26
There will be a grace period until Nov 16 for the new measure to be progressively implemented.
Whipping out our phones to scan the SafeEntry QR code has been a norm for the past few months to help with contact tracing.
Starting from Oct 26, however, checking in with the TraceTogether app or token will be compulsory for all cinemagoers.
This means that scanning the SafeEntry QR codes with phone cameras, the Singpass mobile app or barcodes on NRICs is no longer an accepted mode for entry into any movie theatre.
There will be a grace period until Nov 16 for the new measure to be progressively implemented.

In a Facebook post, indie cinema The Projector was the first to break the news, informing patrons that they will not be allowed entry if they do not use either the TraceTogether app or token.
Fret not, as you can simply download the TraceTogether App from the App Store or Google Play Store.

Otherwise, you can find out where to collect a TraceTogether token here.
TraceTogether makes use of Bluetooth technology to help contract tracers identify and get in touch with you quickly. You can expect more locations to implement mandatory TraceTogether-only entry in the near future.
