To celebrate the opening of 11 stations between Stevens and Gardens by the Bay, the Land Transport Authority (LTA) will hold an opening event across the new MRT stations on Nov 11.

Running from 10am to 9pm, the Thomson-East Coast Line Stage 3 (TEL3) Opening Event features carnival activities, exclusive merchandise and special appearances of LTA’s mascots. Admission is free of charge, and passengers can also enjoy free rides across all 11 new stations on the TEL.

Orchard Station will see the opening of a Knackstop pop-up store that offers TEL Building Blocks and other rail merchandise.

For those interested in the experience of a train captain, the station also offers commuters the opportunity to try out the TEL Train Simulator along with an exclusive display of transport memorabilia from the Friends of Land Transport.

A photo exhibition celebrating the frontliners who kept the land transport sector safe and running during the COVID-19 pandemic will also be presented Orchard Station.

While exploring TEL3, commuters can also participate in games like TEL3 Thrills & Trails and TEL3 Go!

Hidden in the 11 TEL stations as part of TEL3 Thrills & Trails are blue stickers in the shape of a rock that contains a QR code. Participants can scan these codes for a chance to win exclusive LTA x KLOOK deals worth up to $80.

Created in collaboration with local start-up Move Technologies, TEL3 Go! quizzes participants on each TEL3 station through an interactive WhatsApp chatbot. Participants have to answer three questions about each TEL station to be eligible to win prizes.

To promote greener methods of commuting, photo spots are also made available at the Gardens by the Bay Station for commuters to take their pictures for a chance to win exclusive prizes.

Activity Booths will also be present at four stations during the Opening Event.

Interested participants can learn more about the four Caring Norms at Outram Park’s interactive booth, participate in a SimplyGo quiz at Great World and Maxwell Station, or role-play as a Transit Security Officer at Havelock Station.

Commuters will get to meet all five members of LTA’s Thoughtful Bunch mascots including Hush-Hush Hannah, Move-in Martin and Stand-Up Stacey through stage performances held at Orchard Station, Outram Park, Gardens by the Bay, Maxwell and Greatworld.

TEL3 will open for passenger service on Nov 13.
