The PlayStation 5 Asia celebration showcase will take place on Nov 11

When pre-orders for Sony’s next-gen PlayStation 5 (PS5) were first announced, websites crashed within seconds as fans rushed to secure their PS5s, which were sold out within minutes. 

For fans who were unable to get their hands on pre-orders, the wait for its official launch on Nov 12 (or Nov 19 for most countries) seemed so far away. But now, exactly one week to its launch, the finish line is finally in sight.

To celebrate its official release, Sony has organized the PlayStation 5 Asia Celebration Showcase to usher in its latest addition to the PlayStation roster.

Set to air on Nov 11, 11pm, the live digital showcase will feature prominent names in the Singaporean entertainment industry such as JJ Lin, Joakim Gomez and Victoria Cheng.

While singer JJ will take part in an exclusive unboxing session, Joakim and Victoria will share some of their gameplay experiences with us.

Viewers can also participate in the livestream by completing simple tasks like answering quizzes or leaving a comment after the stream to stand a chance to win some big prizes. 

Prizes include a PS5, a PULSE 3D Wireless Headset, a 12-month PlayStation Plus membership and PS4 theme. 

Some of the prizes are region-locked and only users from selected countries will be eligible to receive them. PlayStation Network (PSN) account holders in Singapore are eligible for the prizes, so fret not. 

Those gunning for the top prizes, be sure to keep those creative juices flowing as comments will be judged on creativity, inspiration and constructive elements.

While there is no purchase required to participate, do remember to sign up with your PSN before the event. If you’re really excited, you can even sign up for email reminders before the showcase starts!
