The official trailer for Zack Snyder’s Justice League has just dropped – and it’s mind blowing
The official trailer shows the movie in a whole new atmosphere, along with some new characters.
Much like aliens or unicorns, Zack Snyder’s version of the Justice League was something that was only rumoured to exist.
For the uninitiated, the 2017 release of the Justice League flopped on release as viewers felt that the film was lacklustre and lacked consistency.
Much of this was attributed to the change in directorial roles from Zack Snyder to Joss Whedon. The director of previous DC films, such as Man of Steel and Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, had stepped down from production due to personal reasons.
Following this, Joss Whedon stepped up to oversee the rest of the movie’s post-production.
After the movie’s mediocre performance, Snyder shared that he believed that only a quarter of his original version remained and thus the legend of the Snyder Cut was born.
While its existence was already confirmed in 2019, fans have waited patiently ever since then for its release.
However, with the release of its official trailer, the Snyder Cut is closer to release than ever.
Although the video has only been out for less than a day, the trailer has already received more than a whopping seven million views on YouTube.
But what’s in the trailer itself? Well, apart from a chilling chorus-backed orchestral piece, we are treated to sights of burning cities, chaotic fight scenes and heroes smouldering grimly into the distance.
A little cliche, to be honest, but that doesn’t stop it from being absolutely awe-inspiring.
The trailer also reveals some new characters that were previously not in the movie, such as Darkseid and Jared Leto’s Joker.
Slated for release on Mar 18 on HBO Max, Zack Snyder’s Justice League will span the course of four hours, so be sure to make yourself comfortable.
And yes, for the Reddit-dwelling Gen-Zs, the trailer ends with the Joker uttering the famous line: “We live in a society.”
