Team sports including five-a-side football, basketball to resume for vaccinated people from Nov 10
The pilot program starts on Nov 10, with 11 ActiveSG Sport Centres and 19 People’s Association Community Clubs taking part.
Team sports of up to 10 fully vaccinated people will resume from Wednesday onwards (Nov 10) at selected ActiveSG sports centres and People’s Association community clubs (CCs).
All participants must be fully vaccinated and will also be required to produce a valid negative pre-activity Antigen Rapid Test (ART) result at the venue.
Sports that people can look forward to returning include five-a-side football, basketball, and sepak takraw, while the likes of netball, hockey, and tchoukball can modify team sizes to fit the current rules. This will also allow several pairs of players to play racket sports like table tennis, badminton and tennis.
This pilot is part of the multi-ministry taskforce’s easing of safe management measures (SMM) in settings that allow for pre-activity testing and vaccination-differentiated SMMs.
The pilot program will take place at 11 ActiveSG Sport Centres and 19 People’s Association CCs.
The ActiveSG sport centres are located at Clementi, Hougang, Jurong East, Jurong West, Our Tampines Hub, Pasir Ris, Sengkang, St Wilfred, Toa Payoh, Woodlands and Yio Chu Kang.
The CCs include ACE The Place CC, Anchorvale CC, Ang Mo Kio CC, Ayer Rajah CC, Bedok CC, Bukit Merah CC, Bukit Panjang CC, Changi Simei CC, Joo Chiat CC, Jurong Green CC, Kampong Kembangan CC, Keat Hong CC, Marsiling CC, Marymount CC, Pasir Ris East CC, Punggol CC, The Frontier CC, Whampoa CC and Zhenghua CC.
While private organisations, such as futsal courts operators, are currently not part of the pilot programme, they can apply to Sport Singapore to join it.
