Team Singapore’s paddlers are on a row.

Following Izaac Quek’s exploits in the last few weeks, Zhou Jingyi is the latest Singapore paddler to win a title – the U-17 girls’ singles at the WTT (World Table Tennis) Youth Contender Szombathely.

The 16-year-old defeated Yashaswini Deepak Ghorpade from India with 11-7, 8-11, 12-10, 11-9 in the final on Nov 6. In doing so, she also avenged her loss at the WTT Youth Contender Senec last week.

Teammate Ser Lin Qian, 15, finished third in the same event, after losing to Yashaswini in the semi-finals.

Jingyi’s triumph is Team Singapore’s second at the WTT Youth Contender Szombathely, after Izaac Quek’s win in the U-19 boys’ singles.
