Singapore has fielded a total of 67 athletes and para-athletes across nine sports for the 2022 Commonwealth Games taking place in Birmingham, United Kingdom.
Singapore has won four gold medals, four silver medals and four bronze medals.
The Games take place from Jul 28 to Aug 8.

Aug 8 (Monday)
Badminton
Jessica Tan Wei Han and Hee Yong Kai Terry won the Gold medal after securing a 2-0 win over England in the Mixed Doubles Gold medal match.

Table Tennis
Feng Tianwei and Zeng Jian earned the Gold medal after a 3-0 win over Australia in the Women’s Doubles Gold medal match.

Wong Xin Ru and Zhou Jingyi on the other hand were defeated by Wales 1-3 in the Women’s Doubles Bronze medal match.
Aug 7 (Sunday)
Badminton
Teh Jia Heng suffered a 0-2 loss to India in the Men’s Singles Bronze medal match.
He advanced to the Men’s Singles Bronze medal match after a 1-2 loss to India’s Lakshya Sen in the Semi Finals.
Hee Yong Kai Terry and Jessica Tan Wei Han advanced to the Mixed Doubles Gold medal match after a 2-0 win over Malaysia in the Semi Finals.
Yeo Jia Min earned the Bronze medal after a 2-0 win over Scotland’s Kirsty Gilmour in the Bronze medal match.
She qualified for the Women’s Singles Bronze medal match after a 0-2 defeat to India’s Venkata Sindhu Pusarla in the Semi Finals.
Table Tennis
Chew Zhe Yu Clarence and Poh Shao Feng Ethan earned the Bronze medal in the Men’s Doubles Bronze medal match following a 3-1 win over Australia.

Feng Tian Wei earned the Gold medal in the Women’s Singles Gold medal match following a 4-3 win over compatriot Zeng Jian.

Zeng Jian has in turn won the Silver medal for Singapore.

Chew Zhe Yu Clarence and Zeng Jian won the Bronze medal after a 3-1 win over Australia in the Mixed Doubles Bronze medal match.

Feng Tianwei and Zeng Jian advanced to the Women’s Doubles Gold medal match after a 3-2 win over Wales in the Semi Finals.
Wong Xin Ru and Zhou Jingyi however were unable to qualify for the Women’s Doubles Gold medal match after a 0-3 loss to Australia in the Semi Finals and will therefore compete in the Bronze medal match.
Athletics
The Singapore men’s 4 x 100m relay team of Marc Brian Louis, Joshua Chua Han Wei, Xander Ho Ann Heng and Ian Koe finished in seventh place out of eight in the Finals with a timing of 40.24s.
Aug 6 (Saturday)
Table Tennis
Chew Zhe Yu Clarence and Poh Shao Feng Ethan did not advance to the Men’s Doubles Gold medal match following a 1-3 loss to England in the Semi Finals, and will instead compete in the Bronze medal match on Aug 7.
Quek Yong Izaac was unable to advance to the Men’s Singles Semi Finals as he suffered a 0-4 loss to India’s Achanta Sharath Kamal in the Quarter Finals.
Zeng Jian and Chew Zhe Yu Clarence advanced to the Mixed Doubles Bronze medal match following a 1-3 loss to Malaysia in the Semi Finals.
Wong Xin Ru and Zhou Jingyi qualified for the Women’s Doubles Semi Finals after a 3-1 win over India in the Quarter Finals. In the Round of 16, they beat St Vincent and the Grenadines 3-0.
Feng Tianwei and Zeng Jian similarly advanced to the Women’s Doubles Semi Finals after a 3-1 win over Australia in the Quarter Finals. They previously secured a 3-0 win over England in the Round of 16.
Zeng Jian and Feng Tianwei advanced to the Women’s Singles Gold medal match and will face each other on Aug 7.
In the Semi Finals, Zeng Jian beat Australia’s Liu Yangzi 4-2 while Tianwei beat India’s Akula Sreeja 4-3.
Athletics
The Singapore men’s 4 x 100m relay team of Marc Brian Louis, Joshua Chua Han Wei, Xander Ho Ann Heng and Ian Koe qualified for the Finals after they placed eighth out of 13 in the Heats with a timing of 39.95s.
The Singapore women’s 4 x 100m relay team consisting of Pereira Veronica Shanti, Nur Izlyn, Kugrapriya D/O Chandran and Bernice Liew Yee Ling failed to advance to the Finals as they finished in 10th place out of 12 in the Heats with a timing of 45.58s.
Wrestling (Freestyle)
Lou Hong Yeow failed to advance to the Bronze medal match after a 0-10 defeat to Nigeria’s John Ogbonna Emmanual in the Repechage by VSU.
He previously suffered a 0-10 loss to VSU in the Quarter Finals to India’s Naveen Naveen.
Badminton
Teh Jia Heng advanced to the Men’s Singles Semi Finals following a 2-0 win over Jamaica’s Ricketts Samuels in the Quarter Finals.
Loh Kean Yew however was unable to advance to the Semi Finals after he suffered a 1-2 loss to Malaysia’s Ng Tze Yong in the Quarter Finals.
Jessica Tan Wei Han and Hee Yong Kai Terry advanced to the Mixed Doubles Semi Finals after they beat New Zealand 2-0 in the Quarter Finals.
Yin Yu Jia and Wong Jia Ying Crystal failed to advance to the Women’s Doubles Semi Finals after a 1-2 defeat to Malaysia in the Quarter Finals.
Yeo Jia Min advanced to the Women’s Singles Semi Finals after a 2-0 win over Australia’s Chen Hsuan-Yu Wendy.
Aug 5 (Friday)
Table Tennis
Chew Zhe Yu Clarence and Poh Shao Feng Ethan advanced to the Men’s Doubles Quarter Finals after they defeated Canada in the Round of 16 with a score of 3-1.
Pang Yew En Koen and Quek Yong Izaac however were unable to advance to the Finals as they were beaten by Nigeria in the Round of 16 with a score of 2-3.
Quek Yong Izaac advanced to the Men’s Singles Quarter Finals after he beat Canada’s Eugene Wang 4-3 in the Round of 16.
He previously beat Northern Ireland’s Owen Cathcart 4-1 in the Round of 32.
Chew Zhe Yu Clarence and Pang Yew En Koen however failed to advance to the Men’s Singles Quarter Finals. In the Round of 16, Clarence lost 0-4 to England’s Paul Drinkhall while Koen lost 0-4 to England’s Liam Pitchford.
Clarence previously beat Australia’s Dillion Chambers 4-3 in the Round of 32 while Koen beat Canada’s Hongtao Chen 4-1.
Zeng Jian and Chew Zhe Yu Clarence advanced to the Mixed Doubles Semi Finals after they beat Australia 3-0 in the Quarter Finals.
They previously beat Malaysia 3-0 in the Round of 16.
Feng Tianwei and Zeng Jian advanced to the Women’s Doubles Round of 16 after they beat Nigeria 3-0 in the Round of 32.
Wong Xin Ru and Zhou Jingyi also advanced to the Women’s Doubles Round of 16 after they beat Mauritius 3-0 in the Round of 32.
Feng Tianwei and Zeng Jian both advanced to the Women’s Singles Semi Finals.
In the Quarter Finals, Tianwei beat Australia’s Jian Lang Fay 4-0, while Zeng Jian beat India’s Manika Batra 4-0.
Tianwei previously beat India’s Reeth Tennison with a score of 4-1 and Zeng Jian beat Wales’ Chloe Anna Thomas Wu Zhang 4-1 in the Round of 16.
Athletics
The Singapore men’s 4 x 400m relay team of Tan Zong Yang, Quek Jun Jie Calvin, Thiruben S/O Thana Rajan and Lee Siong En Reuben Reiner did not advance to the Finals. They finished in ninth place of 10 in the Heats with a timing of 3:15.01.
Nur Izlyn Binte Zaini failed to advance to the Women’s 100m Hurdle Finals as she placed 16th out of 17 in the Heats with a timing of 13.93s.
Pereira Veronica Shanti failed to advance to the Women’s 200m Semi Finals after she finished in 11th place out of 24 in the Semi Finals with a timing of 23.46s, while equalled her current personal best.
Wrestling (Freestyle)
Chow Weng Luen Garry was unable to advance to the Men’s 86kg Repechage after he suffered a 0-10 defeat by VSU to Australia’s Jayden Lawrence in the Preliminary Round.
Danielle Lim Sue Ching was similarly unable to qualify for the Women’s 57kg Repechage after she lost 0-10 to Canada’s Hannah Taylor by VSU.
Badminton
Loh Kean Yew and Teh Jia Heng advanced to the Men’s Singles Quarter Finals.
Kean Yew beat Mauritius’ Jean Bernard Bongout 2-0 in the Round of 16, while Jia Heng beat Sri Lanka’s Niluka Karunaratne 2-0.
Jessica Tan Wei Han and Hee Yong Kai Terry advanced to the Mixed Doubles Quarter Finals after they beat Scotland 2-0 in the Round of 16.
Mixed Doubles Round of 16: Jin Yujia and Andy Kwek Jun Liang (6pm)
Wong Jia Ying Crystal and Jin Yujia advanced to the Women’s Doubles Quarter Finals after defeating Australia 2-0 in the Round of 16.
Yeo Jia Min advanced to the Women’s Singles Quarter Finals after she defeated England’s Freya Redfearn 2-0 in the Round of 16.
Nur Insyirah Khan however failed to advance to the Women’s Singles Quarter Finals following a 0-2 defeat to Canada’s Michelle Li in the Round of 16.
Aug 4 (Thursday)
Badminton
Loh Kean Yew advanced to the Men’s Singles Round of 16 after he beat South Africa’s Robert Summers with a score of 2-0 in the Round of 32.
Teh Jia Heng similarly advanced to the Men’s Singles Round of 16 after beating Pakistan’s Murad Ali with a score of 2-0 in the Round of 32.
Hee Yong Kai Terry and Jessica Tan Wei Han advanced to the Round of 16 after beating Zambia 2-0 in the Mixed Doubles Round of 32.
Andy Kwek Jun Liang and Jin Yujia however suffered a 0-2 defeat to Malaysia and failed to advance to the Round of 16.
Nur Insyirah Khan advanced to the Women’s Singles Round of 16 after beating Maldives’ Aminath Nabeeha in the Round of 32 with a score 2-0;
Yeo Jia Min qualified for the Women’s Singles Round of 16 after beating Cyprus’ Eleni Christodoulou 2-0 in the Round of 32.
Table Tennis
Chew Zhe Yu Clarence and Poh Shao Feng Ethan advanced to the Men’s Doubles Round of 16 after they beat Malaysia in the Round of 32 with a score of 3-1.
Pang Yew En Koen and Quek Yong Izaac also advanced to the Men’s Doubles Round of 16 after they secured a 3-0 win over Seychelles in the Round of 32.
Zeng Jian and Chew Zhe Yu Clarence advanced to the Mixed Doubles Round of 32 after beating South Africa 3-0 in the Round of 64.
They later beat Fiji in the Round of 32 to advance to the Round of 16.
Pang Yew En Koen and Wong Xin Ru however were unable to advance to the Round of 16 after suffering a 2-3 defeat to England.
Quek Yong Izaac and Zhou Jingyi similarly suffered a 2-3 loss to England and were unable to advance to the Round of 16.
Zhou Jingyi suffered a 3-4 defeat to Northern Ireland’s Sophie Earley and was unable to advance to the Women’s Singles Round of 16.
Athletics
Lee Siong En Reuben Rainer and Xander Ho Ann Heng were both unable to advance to the Men’s 200m Semi Finals.
In the Heats, Reuben finished in 37th place out of 58 with a timing of 21.72s, while Xander finished in 46th place with a timing of 22.37s.
Pereira Veronica Shanti advanced to the Women’s 200m Semi Finals. She finished in 10th place out of 36 and set a new National Record and Personal Best timing of 23.46s.
Sng Suat Li Michelle was unable to advance to the Women’s High Jump Finals as she placed 15th out of 18 in the Qualifying Round with a height of 1.76m.
Rhythmic Gymnastics
Katelin Heng Wie Qi, Kaitlyn Joy Chia and Ho Jin Wen Sophia were all unable to advance to the Women’s Rhythmic Hoop, Ball, Clubs and Ribbon Individual Finals.
Sophia finished the Qualifying Rounds in 23rd place out of 29 with a score of 90.450, while Kaitlyn and Sophia finished in 25th and 26th place with a score of 82.350 and 79.300 respectively.
In the Women’s Team Final, the trio finished in seventh place out of seven with a score of 216.900.
Para Powerlifting
Nur Aini Binte Mohamad Yasli finished in seventh place out of 10 in the Women’s Lightweight Finals, where she earned 74.7 points.
Lawn Bowls
Singapore finished in fourth place out of five in Group A and were unable to advance to the Quarter Finals.
Aug 3 (Wednesday)
Badminton
Jin Yujia and Andy Kwek Jun Liang beat Maldives 2-0 in the Mixed Doubles Round of 64, and have advanced to the Round of 32.
Nur Insyirah Khan advanced to the Round of 32 after she beat Jamaica’s Katherine Wynter 2-0 in the Round of 64.
Athletics
Tan Zong Yang and Thiruben S/O Thana Rajan were unable to advance to the Men’s 400m Semi Finals.
Zong Yang finished in 32nd place with a timing of 47.55s in the Heats, while Thiruben finished in 38th place with a timing of 48.67s.
Kampton Kam finished in 12th place out of 13 in the Men’s High Jump Finals with a height of 2.10m.
Pereira Veronica Shanti was unable to advance to the Women’s 100m Finals after she finished in 20th place out of 24 in the Semi Finals with a timing of 11.57s.
Swimming
Teong Tzen Wei finished in fifth place out of eight in the Men’s 50m Freestyle Finals with a timing of 22.26s.
Lawn Bowls
Singapore’s Women’s Triples team of Lim Poh Eng, Goh Quee Kee and Lim Shermeen Xin Yi beat South Africa 19-18 in the third round of the competition.
The women’s trio later suffered a 13-23 loss to Northern Ireland in the fourth round.
Aug 2 (Tuesday)
Lawn Bowls
Singapore’s women’s team of Lim Poh Eng, Goh Quee Kee and Lim Shermeen Xin Yi suffered a 22-11 defeat to Australia in the first round of the Women’ s Triples.
They later earned their first win in the second round after beating Falkland Island 23-10.
Athletics
Marc Brian Louis, Ian Koe and Joshua Chua Han Wei failed to advance to the Men’s 100m Finals.
In the Heats, Marc finished in 38th place out or 72 with a timing of 10.51s, while Ian and Joshua finished in 43rd and 57th place with a timing of 10.67s and 10.91s respectively.
Pereira Veronica Shanti advanced to the Women’s 100m Heats after she finished in 21st place out 49 in the Heats with a timing of 11.48s.
Bernice Liew Yee Ling and Kugapriya D/O Chandran however were unable to advance to the Semi Finals. Bernice finished in 38th place in the Heats with a timing of 12.12s while Kugapriya finished in 41st place with a timing of 12.34s.
Quak Jun Jie Calvin was unable to advance to the Men’s 400m Hurdles Finals after he finished in 10th place out of 13 in the Heats with a timing of 52.40s.
Swimming
Teong Tzen Wei advanced to the Men’s 50m Freestyle Semi Finals after he finished in sixth place out 16 in the Semi Finals with a timing of 22.36s. He previously placed eighth in the Heats with a timing of 22.62s.
Jonathan Tan Eu Jin and Mikkel Lee Jun Jie however were unable to advance to the Finals. Jonathan finished in ninth place in the Semi Finals with a timing of 22.57s while Mikkel came in 14th place with a timing of 22.77s.
Jonathan previously finished in sixth place out of 71 in the Heats with a timing of 22.53s, while Mikkel finished in 11th place with a timing of 22.69s.
Quah Jing Wen failed to advance to the Women’s 200m Butterfly Finals after she finished in 11th place out of 14 in the Semi Finals with a timing of 2:12.89.
Badminton
The Singapore mixed team secured the Bronze medal in the Mixed Team Bronze Medal Match following a 3-0 victory over England.

Table Tennis
The Singapore men’s team clinched the Silver medal following a 1-3 defeat to India in the Men’s Team Gold Medal Match.

Aug 1 (Monday)
Weightlifting
Lim Kang Yin finished in eighth place out of 12 in the Men’s 81kg Finals, where he clinched an overall result of 288kg.
Nicole Lin Li Heng finished in 10th place out of 12 in the Women’s 64kg Finals with a final result of 169kg.
Table Tennis
The Singapore women’s team secured Singapore’s first Gold medal after beating Malaysia with a score of 3-0 in the Gold medal match.

The Singapore men’s table tennis team defeated England with a score of 3-2 in the Semi Finals and advanced to the Gold medal match taking place on Aug 2.
Para Swimming
Toh Wei Soong secured the Silver medal in the Men’s 50m Freestyle S7 Finals, where he finished in second place out of eight with a timing of 29.10s.

Swimming
Quah Zheng Wen and Teong Tzen Wei were both unable to qualify for the Men’s 100m Butterfly Finals. Zheng Wen finished in ninth place out of 16 in the Semi Finals with a timing of 52.53s, while Tzen Wei finished in 11th place with a timing of 52.88s.
Previously in the Heats, Tzen Wei finished in 7th place out of 47 in the with a timing of 52.58s, while Zheng Wen was just behind him in 8th place with a timing of 52.63s.
Maximillian Ang Wei was unable to advance to the Men’s 50m Breaststroke Finals after finishing in 14th place out of 16 in the Semi Finals with a timing of 28.29s. He previously came in 13th place out of 41 in the Heats with a timing of 28.23s.
Sim En Yi Letitia did not qualify for the Women’s 100m Breaststroke Finals as she finished in ninth place out of 16 in the Semi Finals with a timing of 1:08.58.
She previously finished in 11th place out of 28 in the Heats with a timing of 1:09.29.
Quah Ting Wen and Lim Xiang Qi Amanda were unable to advance to the Women’s 100m Freestyle Semi Finals. Ting Wen finished in 18th place out of 55 in the Heats with a timing of 56.97s, while Amanda finished in 20th place with a timing of 57.08s.
Quah Jing Wen however dropped out of the Heats and did not compete.
Quah Jing Wen dropped out of the Women’s 200m Individual Medley Heats.
Badminton
The Singapore mixed team suffered a 0-3 defeat to India in the Mixed Team Semi Finals and will next compete in the Bronze Medal match against England taking place on Aug 2.
Jul 31 (Sunday)
Weightlifting
Kester Loy finished in ninth place out of nine in the Men’s 67kg Finals with a result of 237kg.
In the Women’s 59kg Finals, Ang Su En Sarah finished in 10th place with a result of 163kg.
Table Tennis
The Singapore men’s team advanced to the Semi Finals after beating Canada 3-0 in the Quarter Finals.
In the Women’s Team Semi Finals, Singapore secured a 3-0 win over Australia and advanced to the Gold medal match.
Swimming
Jonathan Tan Eu Jin and Mikkel Lee Jun Jie were unable to advance to the Men’s 100m Freestyle Finals. Jonathan came in 14th place out of 16 in the Semi Finals with a timing of 50.03s, while Mikkel finished in last place with a timing of 50.30s.
In the Heats, Jonathan finished in 13th place out of 69 with a timing of 49.85s while Mikkel finished just behind him in 14th place with a timing of 50.21s.
Chua Yi Shou Darren however was unable to advance to the Semi Finals as he came in 26th place in the Heats with a timing of 51.38s.
Quah Zheng Wen was unable to advance to the Men’s 50m Backstroke Finals after he finished in 15th place out of 16 in the Semi Finals with a timing of 25.90s. He previously finished in 13th place out of 45 in the Heats with a timing of 25.78s.
Sim En Yi Letitia finished in eighth place out of eight in the Women’s 200m Breaststroke Finals, where she set a new personal best timing of 2:29.06. While she was initially unable to advance to the Finals as she finished in ninth place out of 14 in the Heats with a timing of 2:30.52, she earned qualification as she was the first reserve for the Finals, and one of the other finalists had pulled out.
Quah Jing Wen and Quah Ting Wen were unable to advance to the Women’s 50m Butterfly Finals. Jing Wen finished in 10th place out of 16 in the Semi Finals with a new personal best timing of 26.80s, while Ting Wen finished in 13th place with a timing of 27.00s.
In the Women’s 50m Butterfly Semi Finals. Jing Wen finished in eighth place out of 53 in the Heats with a personal best timing of 26.88s. Ting Wen on the other hand finished in 11th place with a timing of 27.16s.
Badminton
Singapore beat Scotland in the Mixed Team Quarter Finals with a score of 3-0 and advanced to the Semi Finals.
Artistic Gymnastics
Nadine Joy Nathan finished in 11th place out of 19 in the Women’s Individual All-Around Finals with a score of 47.900.
Emma Yap En-Lin finished in 15th place with a score of 46.250.
Jul 30 (Saturday)
Lawn bowls
Shermeen Lim Xin Yi suffered a 21-3 defeat against England’s Amy Pharoah in the third round of the Women’s Singles. She later suffered a 17-21 defeat to Malaysia’s Siti Zalina Ahmad in the fourth round.
Weightlifting
David Mok Pingwei finished in eighth place out of 11 in the Men’s 55kg Finals. He finished with an overall result of 181kg.
In the Women’s 49kg Finals, Chan Ying Ying placed 10th out of 11 with an overall result of 137kg.
Artistic Gymnastics
Nadine Joy Nathan advanced to the Women’s Individual All-Around Finals after she placed 20th out of 30 with a score of 44.600 during the Qualification stage. Nadine however failed to advance to the Women’s Vault, Artistic Bars, Balance Beam and Floor Exercise Finals.
Emma Yap En-Lin qualified for the Women’s Individual All-Around Finals following a 21st place finish out of 30 with a score of 44.550 in the Qualification stage. However, she failed to advance to the Women’s Uneven Bars, Balance Beam and Floor Exercise Finals.
Shandy Poh and Cheong Yuet Yung similarly failed to advance to the Women’s Uneven Bars and Finals.
Shandy, together with Kaitlyn Lim, were also unable to advance to the Women’s Balance Beam and Floor Exercise Finals.
Over in the Women’s Team Finals, the Singapore team consisting of Yuet Yung, Emma, Kaitlyn, Nadine and Shady finished in seventh place out of nine with a score of 134.750.
Table Tennis
The Singapore women’s team advanced to the Semi Finals following a 3-0 victory over Guyana in the Quarter Finals. They previously beat St. Vincent & The Grenadines with a score of 3-0 in the third qualifying round.
The Singapore men’s team similarly qualified for the Quarter Finals following a 3-0 win over Barbados in the third qualifying round.
Swimming
Maximillian Ang Wei failed to advance to the Men’s 100m Breaststroke Finals after he placed 13th out of 16 in the Semi Finals with a personal best timing of 1:01.42.
The Singapore Men’s 4x100m Freestyle Relay team consisting of Jonathan Tan Eu Jin, Quah Zheng Wen, Mikkel Lee Jun Jie and Chua Yi Shou Darren finished in fifth place out of eight in the Finals with a timing of 3:17.93 The quartet previously finished in fifth place out of 13 in the Heats with a timing of 3:20.74.
Teong Tzen Wei secured Singapore’s first Silver medal in the Men’s 50m Butterfly Finals. He finished in second place with a timing of 23.21s.

Liam Xiang Qi Amanda failed to advance to the Women’s 50m Freestyle Finals after she placed 11th out of 16 in the Semi Finals with a timing of 25.62s. She previously finished in 12th place out of 69 in the Heats with a timing of 25.68s.
Quah Ting Wen however was unable to advance to the Semi Finals. She came in 17th place in the Heats with a timing of 26.03s.
Badminton
Singapore beat England 4-1 and advanced to the Quarter-Finals, which will be held on 31 July.
Jul 29 (Friday)
Lawn bowls
Shermeen Lim Xin Yi suffered a 17-21 defeat against New Zealand’s Katelyn Inch in the first round of the Women’s Singles.
She later earned her first win against Niue’s Olivia Eunice Buckingham in the second round with a score of 21-19.
Artistic Gymnastics
Tay Wei An Terry failed to advance to the Men’s Floor Exercise Finals after placing in 13th place out of 40. He managed to secure a score of 12.800 after taking part in the Qualification Subs 1-3.
Terry was also unable to advance to the Men’s Vault Finals after he placed 13th out of 18 with a score of 13.350 following the Qualification Subs 1-3 rounds.
Mohammad Mikhail Haziq bin Mohammad Ghazali similarly failed to advance to the Men’s Pommel Horse Finals. He placed 26th out of 41 after the Qualification Subs 1-3 rounds, where he achieved a score of 11.750.
Table tennis
The Singapore men’s team defeated Nigeria with a score of 3-0 in the first qualifying round.
They later suffered their first defeat of the competition against India in the second qualifying round, where they lost 0-3.
The Singapore women’s team secured a place in the quarter finals following a 3-0 win over Nigeria in their second qualifying round.
They previously earned a 3-0 victory over England in the first qualifying round.
Swimming
Quah Zheng Wen failed to qualify for the Men’s 100m Backstroke Finals after he finished in last place out of 16 competitors in the Semi Finals with a timing of 56.41s. Prior to the Semi Finals, he came in 13th place out of 38 in the Heats with a timing of 55.67s.
Maximillian Ang Wei finished in sixth place out of eight in the Men’s 200m Breaststroke Finals with a timing of 2:13.25. He previously secured qualification to the Finals following a fifth place finish in the Heats, where he clocked in a timing of 2:12.27.
Teong Tzen Wei qualified for the Men’s 50m Butterfly Finals after he came in second place out of 16 in the Semi Finals with a timing of 23.24s. He previously finished in 11th place out of 54 in the Heats with a timing of 23.88s.
Mikkel Lee Jun Jie however did not advance to the Men’s 50m Finals after he finished in 12th place out of 16 in the Semi Finals with a timing of 23.76s. Mikkel previously placed seventh out of 54 with a timing of 23.79s in the Heats.
The Singapore Mixed 4x100m Freestyle Relay team of Lim Xiang Qi Amanda, Quah Jing Wen, Chua Yi Shou Darren and Jonathan Tan Eu Jin finished in sixth place out of eight in the Finals with a timing of 3:31.90.
The quartet previously placed sixth out of 19 in the Heats with a timing of 3:33.71.
Quah Jing Wen was unable to advance to the Women’s Butterfly 100m Finals after she finished in 10th place out of 16 in the Semi Finals with a timing of 59.09s. She had previously advanced to the Women’s 100m Butterfly Semi Finals after placing 12th out of 38 in the Heats with a timing of 59.51s.
Quah Ting Wen and Sim En Yi Letitia however did not advance to the Semi Finals. Ting Wen came in 17th in the Heats with a timing of 1:00.52 while Letitia finished in 19th place with a timing of 1:01.05.
Sim En Yi Letitia failed to advance to the Women’s 50m Breaststroke Finals following an 11th place finish out of 16 in the Semi Finals with a timing of 31.56s.
She previously finished in 11th out of 33 in the Heats with a timing of 31.67s.
Badminton
Singapore defeated Mauritius 5-0 in the first round of the Mixed Team Group Round.
The Singapore team later defeated Barbados in the second game of the Mixed Team Group Round with a score of 5-0.
