In commemoration of its 30th anniversary, local classical string ensemble T’ang Quartet announced a line-up of celebrations that consist of four concerts and a commemorative book about their experiences, T’ang At 30

The second concert of the anniversary season, Gift of Music, will be held on Jul 27 and 28 from 7.30pm to 9pm at the Esplanade Recital Studio.

The show’s 90 minute programme includes classic pieces such as Mozart’s K465 Dissonance and Brahms’ Op 51 No1 in C Minor. For the show on Jul 27, the quartet will also play a special third piece for guests on top of its main programme.

Through the lineup of pieces, the T’ang Quartet will be revisiting traditions by playing challenging classical standards while embracing newer works as well.

Gift of Music marks the first time that the T’ang Quartet, a registered charity in Singapore, will be holding a fundraising show.

Attendance for the first night of the show (Jul 27) is limited to sponsors and donors only. Contributions for the first night start from $300 per seat, and can be made here.

Attendees of the first night’s show will receive a canvas tote bag with a complimentary copy of T’ang At 30.

“The fundraising initiative will go a long way in helping us on our musical journey as educators as well as performers, in reaching out to a larger audience with classical music,” says Wang Zihao, cellist of the quartet.

Tickets to the second night of the show are open to the general public. It can be purchased on Sistic at $40 for a ticket at the stall and $28 for concession tickets.

Guests can also purchase the commemorative T’ang At 30 book on the same evening at a special price of $40. Non-concertgoers can get their hands on the book for $45 here
