Super Nintendo World will open at Universal Studios Hollywood sometime in 2023, Universal Studios Hollywood announced on Mar 11. This will be the first Super Nintendo World in the United States.

The Nintendo-themed attraction was previously slated to open at Universal Studios Orlando following its debut in Universal Studios Japan. However, construction was delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic and its opening is now scheduled for 2025.

The themed area will include one ride, several interactive areas, and themed shopping and dining experiences, all inspired by popular Nintendo games and characters like Mario and Luigi.

At Japan’s Super Nintendo World, visitors can race around a Mario Kart course as they would in the video game, and this immersive experience is enhanced by augmented reality elements.

In commemoration of the upcoming opening, the Hollywood theme park will turn its Feature Presentation merchandise store into a Super Nintendo World pop-up shop with exclusive Nintendo merchandise.

More information about the upcoming attraction’s exact opening date will be released in due time.
