Studio Ghibli’s theme park, Ghibli Park, will finally open its doors to the public on Nov 1, 2022, with little to no big attractions or rides at all.

Unlike traditional theme parks, Ghibli Park will follow a nature theme, recreating some of the most memorable places in Studio Ghibli films.

Situated within the Aichi Earth Expo Memorial Park in the Aichi Prefecture, Japan, Ghibli Park will have five themed areas.

The first phase of construction currently taking place includes the gift shop Ghibli’s Grand Warehouse, the antique shop from Whisper of the Heart on the Hill of Youth, and even Dondoko Forest from My Neighbour Totoro.

Other areas in the park will feature settings from the films Kiki’s Delivery Service, Howl’s Moving Castle and Princess Mononoke.

The first few areas will be unveiled on Nov 1. More updates will be announced on the Ghibli Park website in due time.
