Steven Lim to perform as guest DJ at ‘TikTok Night’ on Jan 23

Online personality Steven Lim will be a special guest DJ at Hard Rock Cafe on Jan 23. This is part of the TikTok Night by local event organiser Culture Singapore.

Held from 10pm to 3am, this is the first TikTok Night held by Culture Singapore in 2023. The TikTok Night concept was introduced back in 2018 as a way to encourage the TikTok community to connect with each other offline.

Past editions of TikTok Night were organised based on trending TikTok songs such as Talking to the Moon and HELIKOPTER. 

In an Instagram video posted by Culture DJ Vira Suria on Monday (Jan 9), he explained how this unexpected gig for Steven Lim came about. 

According to Vira, he first chanced upon social media posts of Steven Lim playing on a DJ turntable. He then reached out, in hopes of teaching the online personality how to actually use one.

He remarked in the video: “What if I could teach him how to be a DJ and let him perform at one of our events?”

Videos of “superstar” Steven Lim mixing tracks on the turntable started surfacing in the first week of January. In one of the videos posted under his Instagram handle @stevenlimnew, the self-proclaimed “SG well-known celebrity” could be seen jamming and mixing tracks by Malaysian artiste Namewee and aspiring local musician John Shadow.

The video post’s accompanying caption stated: “Steven Lim Kor Kor got a new talent inside his bag DJing Not Only Swimming Butterfly, Dance, Singing and Acting!”

Aside from Steven Lim and DJ Vira Suria, partygoers can also expect sets by SoundsOfFai, Marshmallowman, DJ Pin, Mr J (WhoHurtYou?), Chua and Hella Brizzy at the event.

Tickets will be available for purchase through Culture Singapore’s Telegram Group on Wednesday (Jan 11), 6pm at $25 each.
