While we may not be able to resume our leisure travels anytime soon, perhaps we can still cure the wanderlust in our own backyard.
The Singapore Tourism Board (STB) announced yesterday (Jul 22) that it will be launching ‘SingapoRediscovers‘, a nine-month tourism campaign to encourage more locals to explore different parts of the island.
Together with Enterprise Singapore and Sentosa Development Corporation, the S$45 million campaign offers several travel bundles for locals, such as staycation packages and discounts for attractions like Night Safari and iFly Singapore.
You can also look forward to curated tours to well-loved precincts like Little India and Kampong Gelam.
Other confirmed events include the virtual Singapore Food Festival in August and the e-Great Singapore Sale from Sept 9.
Besides providing more opportunities for Singaporeans to go on a ‘Singapoliday’, the new campaign also hopes to “cushion the impact” on the local tourism sector, which has been greatly affected by the COVID-19 outbreak.
As you gear up to check out these promotions, do note that COVID-19 safety measures will still be implemented during this period. All businesses are expected to adhere to capacity limits and enforce safe distancing measures.
