Spotify releases 2022 Spotify Wrapped; Taylor Swift most-streamed artist in Singapore
Half of the Top 10 Artists list is dominated by Asian talents.
December has arrived and so has the much anticipated annual Spotify Wrapped. Spotify unveiled its 2022 Wrapped campaign on Dec 1 announcing the top artists, albums, songs, playlists and podcasts that exhibit the listening habits of more than 456 million listeners worldwide.
Taylor Swift topped the charts on the list of Singapore’s Top Artists while her nostalgic Red (Taylor’s Version) recording broke fifth in Top Albums.
K-Pop giants BTS trailed the American songstress as they came in second on the Top Artists list. They also retained their position as the Top Group for the third consecutive year.

Spotify Wrapped also shared that local fans embraced the highly anticipated comeback of the King of Mandopop Jay Chou, who was ranked Singapore’s Top Male Artist following the release of Greatest Works of Art – his first studio album in six years.
The 2022 statistics revealed a greater diversity in music consumption, with half of the Top 10 Artists list dominated by Asian talents including Taiwanese Mandopop singer Eric Chou and Singaporean artist JJ Lin. The duo maintained their positions on the list for the fourth consecutive year.
In addition, BLACKPINK broke into the Top Artists list this year at ninth place. The quartet also ranked second in Singapore’s Top Groups for the second consecutive year.
Pop icon Justin Bieber’s Ghost is named Singapore’s Top Song of the Year, while Joji’s Glimpse of Us and Harry Styles’ As it Was clinched the second and third places. The list of Singapore’s Top Local Artists includes JJ Lin, Stefanie Sun and pop artist Gentle Bones.
Following the Spotify Wrapped trend, local creator Yeolo came up with his own memes. In a light-hearted Instagram post, he listed stomach, back, chest, neck and knee pain as the Top Five Headaches of 2022.
Another post reflected Uncle Raymond as the Top Artist of the year, likely in reference to his viral TikTok dance trend.
