SPCA will hold its Pawsome Pawty on May 27 featuring shelter tours, meet and greet with dogs up for adoption, and VR simulations.

Running from 10.30am to 4.30pm, the Pawsome Pawty is an event to engage the public in raising awareness about proper animal care and safety and adoption of pets in Singapore.

Shelter tours will be available from 11.30am to 4.30pm, with no pre-registration required. Visitors can also participate in a meet and greet with SPCA’s dogs that will be up for adoption.

Should visitors be interested in adopting an animal during the event, there will be counsellors at the adoption centre who will give a walkthrough of the adoption process.

The event features experiential booths to raise awareness on the importance of meshing windows and alternative training methods. Visitors can experience a virtual reality simulation “of a cat falling from a height” and the pain of a shock collar.

For those looking to do something artistic, the event will feature free activities such as shrink art making, face painting and scratch art making along with a drawing competition.

Handmade merchandise by SPCA and by students from Bukit Panjang Government High School will be available for purchase. Playeum, a charity that aims to create a safe space and equal opportunities for children in Singapore, is also selling items to raise funds for its operations.

Visitors can purchase food from vendors such as Singapore’s first superfood ice cream brand Mrs Plump’s, Arab bubble tea Habib Tea and Kream SG.

There will be showcases by students from Nanyang Junior College (NYJC) to raise awareness on sea pollution and how to combat it, infographics on proper pet care as well as the inaugural NYJC WildRun, a student initiated project to benefit SPCA.

Featured at the event are local musicians like RRiley and Temasek Polytechnic Music Vox students.

Tickets are priced at $15 per pax and a family group of 4 pax discount at $45.

Pawsome Pawty will be held at SPCA Singapore, 50 Sungei Tengah Road. Visitors should note that there is no parking on the premises and are encouraged to take public transport or SPCA’s shuttle buses.
