After announcing its price and official release date on Thursday (Sep 17), Sony’s PlayStation 5 (PS5) officially opened its doors for pre-orders at 11am this morning. However, it sold out within literal seconds as anticipated buyers waited for pre-orders to open.

Some retailers such as Qisahn and even Sony Singapore’s website went down from the amount of traffic.

They were promptly fixed, but sadly all the units had run out of stock by the time the websites went live again.

This prompted many shocked responses from netizens unable to purchase the PS5.

Some game shops such as Qisahn have estimated that their next restock will be in mid December, so be sure to keep your eye out because they might sell out just as quickly.
