Sneakerheads will soon have a new hangout place in town at Mandarin Gallery.

Japan’s leading customer to customer platform for selling sneakers, SNKRDUNK, will open its flagship store at the retail venue on Oct 15, as part of a campaign to celebrate the launch of its global app.

The store will also hold a raffle on opening day, with 100 pairs of sneakers available at retail price. These include 10 exclusive collaborative sneakers which “could have a resale value double that of its retail price”, such as the Travis Scott x Nike Air Jordan 1 Low “reverse Mocha” and the Sacai x Nike LDV Waffle.

The distribution of the raffle tickets will begin at 7.30am on Oct 15 at the SNKRDUNK flagship store.

SNKRDUNK said it will also offer the growing Singapore sneakerhead community a “seamless shopping experience”, allowing customers to “touch and feel exclusive drops” before they make their purchase.

The retail store will house a diverse collection of sneakers, including limited edition collaboration such as Nike’s Jordans with Travis Scott, Yeezys and sold-out New Balance collabs.

The physical space will also showcase exclusive collaborative pieces between SNKRDUNK and other hype brands.

“With a burgeoning sneaker community, Singapore is a prime location for sneakerheads from all walks of life to connect through their shared passion. As a consumer-centric platform, the local community is at the forefront of our minds as we believe there is no commerce without community,” said SNKRDUNK global director Kohei Hamada.

SNKRDUNK has earned a reputation in Japan for using a stringent authentication system. Products are shipped to SNKRDUNK’s team of sneaker authenticators, who will use various methods including black light to ensure the authenticity of the sneakers.

Payment and deliveries will be held off until the ordered sneakers are verified to be authentic. If the product is considered counterfeited, SNKRDUNK will offer customers a full refund.

As part of the process to launch the SNKRDUNK app globally, it was developed separately from the native Japanese version. The global application has amassed a rapidly growing user base in the Asia Pacific region in places such as Singapore, Australia and New Zealand, surpassing 4.5 million users in 2022.

Customers can also use the application to move from commerce to content quickly, with information on the latest sneaker collaborations and raffles.

The application also provides in-depth profile features of several brands and personalities as it releases the latest street culture news and updates.

The SNKRDUNK flagship store will be located at #01-09 and #02-10, Mandarin Gallery, 333A Orchard Road.
