To celebrate the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games, Singpost is launching a commemorative set of  stamps on Jul 23.

Each stamp will feature one sport that the Singapore athletes will be participating in the upcoming Olympics. The sports featured are swimming, sailing, diving, badminton and table tennis.

The Tokyo 2020 Summer Olympics will be held from 23 Jul to 8 Aug. It was originally scheduled to take place last year, however it was postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

It was the first time the Olympic Games had been postponed.

The Tokyo 2020 Summer Olympics is the 18th time Singapore athletes are participating, since their first in 1948. The country will be represented by 23 athletes in 11 sports, including Joseph Schooling, who won a swimming 100m butterfly gold medal in the 2016 Olympics – the first in Singapore’s history.

The stamps are priced between 30 cents and $1.40 from 23 Jul onwards, while stocks last. For those interested, you can also opt for the Pre-cancelled First Day Covers ($6.05) and Presentation Packs ($7.10).

The stamps can be purchased on Singpost’s website
