Singapore paddler Izaac Quek has won his second competition in as many months, after triumphing in the U19 boys’ singles event at the WTT (World Table Tennis) Youth Contender Szombathely.

Izaac defeated the Czech Republic’s Adam Stalzer 3-2 in the final on Wednesday (Nov 3). He had earlier won 3-1 against Australia’s Finn Luu in the quarter-finals and 3-2 against Iran’s Navid Shams in the semi-finals.

This comes after the Singapore Sports School student’s win in the U15 boys’ singles at the WTT Youth Contender Ligano last month.

Izaac, the world number one in the U15 category, is currently ranked 64 in the U19 category.

Team Singapore proudly celebrated Izaac’s win in a Facebook post.

“There is no stopping our youth paddlers,” it wrote.

Singapore’s Zhou Jingyi and Ser Lin Qian also finished second in the U19 Girls’ Singles event and U15 Girls’ Singles event respectively at Senec.

Izaac will participate in the WTT Youth Contender Senec Slovakia next, while Jingyi and Lin Qian will play at the WTT Youth Contender Szombathely, Hungary.
