Singapore’s first augmented reality perfume-making experience at Sentosa
Do a personality test to get a personalised scent.
Scentopia, which is located at Beach Station at Sentosa, is Singapore’s first augmented reality (AR) perfume-making experience that allows visitors to do a personality test and use it as a guide in discovering their own scent.
Specialising in the local Singaporean floral and cultural scent, Scentopia holds various activities such as the Guided Perfumery Tour, Augmented and Scented Exhibits, and Perfume-Making. They also sell essential oils, bath salts, bath bombs, and perfumes.
The Guided Perfumery Tour is a 10 to 15 minutes guided tour about perfumery facts. There are over seven tours each day with each tour focusing on different topics such as Sir Raffles Collection, Sense of smell and well-being, History of perfumery and many more.
Currently, tours will only resume on Apr 1. Guided tours start from 11.15am to 6pm but visitors are welcome to visit on their own at other timings as well. The tours are free with a minimum spend of $20.

Besides that, Scentopia has over 250 AR experiences for patrons to interact with. Visitors can expect to see historical creatures or even animated depictions of the perfume ingredients such as lavender. All that’s needed is a smartphone and the Facebook application.

To create a perfume, visitors will be tasked to do a short personality test that will help to classify which scent matches their personality.
There are 5 classifications — Citrus, Fresh, Floral, Woody and Oriental. After getting the results, visitors can proceed to choose 10 scent wands from a selection of over 6000 scent wands to create the fragrance.
A touchless aroma machine will help in creating a sample before confirming the desired scent for the perfume. Diffusers, bath oils and candles can also be created.
The perfume-making is priced at $95 for 50ml and $125 for 100ml. The package will also include the AR exhibit experience. Bookings can be done through their website.
Scentopia is located at 36 Siloso Beach Walk, Singapore 099007 and is open daily from 11am to 7pm.
