Singapore to host Archery Asia Cup 2023 at Bukit Gombak ActiveSG Stadium in June
The Archery Asia Cup is one of the matches leading up to the Paris 2024 Olympics Qualifiers.
Singapore will host the Archery Asia Cup, the annual three-stage tournament that is hosted in three different countries, for the first time in 20 years from Jun 5 to 10 at Bukit Gombak ActiveSG Stadium.
Announced by the Archery Association of Singapore on Monday (May 22), the six-day world ranking 2023 Asia Cup Stage 3 will feature over 200 national archers from 22 Asian countries. This includes 12 archers from the Singapore Archery team.
Some competitors from the Singapore Archery team include Contessa Loh and Madeleine Ong, who won gold and bronze medals respectively at the 2022 Southeast Games at Hanoi. Most recently, they won the bronze medal along with Nur Syahidah Alim for Compound Women’s Team during the 2023 Asia Cup Stage 1 held in Taiwan.

The archers will compete in either the recurve or compound category as individuals, in groups of three for team matches, and in groups of two for mixed team matches.
The tournament will be open to the public for viewing. Archery fans can also visit the various pop-up booths that display and sell the latest archery equipment and peripherals.
Archery Association of Singapore, Win & Win, Salt & Light Archery, and SE Archery are among the few that will set up these booths.
The last time the Archery Asia Cup took place in Singapore was in 2003, when the Archery Association of Singapore hosted the Asian Archery Grand Prix – the precursor to the Asia Cup.
During that game, the Singapore Archery team won two gold medals for the Individual Compound Men and the Compound Men’s Team.
