Singapore Mint to launch commemorative NS55 silver medallion on Aug 20

To mark the 55th anniversary of National Service (NS55), the Singapore Mint will launch a commemorative NS55 silver medallion on Aug 20. 

The 999 fine silver medallion, weighing 20 grams, pays homage to the generations of national servicemen that have served the nation throughout the years.

The front side of the medallion features five servicemen that represent the various services in Singapore – the Singapore Army, the Republic of Singapore Navy (RSN), the Republic of Singapore Air Force (RSAF), the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) and the Singapore Police Force (SPF).

The back dons the NS55 logo and the period “1967 – 2022”, marking 55 years of National Service.

It will be available for online pre-order at $80.

All past and present NSmen, NSFs, regular MINDEF/SAF servicemen and HomeTeam uniformed officers can purchase the medallion at a special price of $70. They are required to present their ID at the counter upon purchase.

Alternatively, they also can purchase the medallion with the use of LIFESG mobile app NS55 credits at $55.

NSmen are also entitled to various privileges and discounts at The Singapore Mint, which are valid until 31 Aug.

The medallion will also be available for purchase at the four Singapore Mint Retail Shops, which are located at Chinatown Point, Suntec City, Orchard Plaza and Coin Gallery. Self-collection is not available at the Orchard Plaza outlet.
