Five Singaporean youths won four titles at the FAI World Cup of Indoor Skydiving 2022, held in Charleroi, Belgium from Apr 5 to 10.

Kyra Poh, 20, clinched her first gold medal in the freestyle (open) category. It brought her total medal tally in the World Cup to four, having won silver medal in the same category in 2017, as well as gold medals in the junior freestyle category in 2016 and the two-way dynamic open category in 2018.

In the junior disciplines, Singapore skydivers won the freestyle, two-way dynamic (speed and free) and the four-way dynamic (speed).

Kai Minejima-Lee, 13, is the only athlete to pick up three gold medals in the World Cup. Apart from coming out tops in the freestyle junior category, he also won the two-way dynamic junior (speed and free) discipline alongside 12-year-old Vera Poh.

Both Kai and Vera teamed up with Isabelle Koh, 15, and Jordan Lee, 18, to clinch the title for the four-way dynamic junior (speed) discipline.

Kyra extended her gratitude on a Facebook post by thanking her families and friends as well as the judges at FAI World Cup for making it “possible for us to compete again”.

She also added: “And our wins in Junior categories makes it even more special knowing that this is only the beginning for our sport.”
