Singapore Discovery Centre’s Total Defence event features SPF vehicle displays, 4D theatre rides
Running from Feb 4 to Mar 3, the event will include interactive displays and a LEGO play area.
Singapore Discovery Centre (SDC) is commemorating the upcoming Total Defence Day on Feb 15 with a month of activities and experiences.
Running from Feb 4 to Mar 3, here are five things to look forward to at the Total Defence 2023 event.
1. Vehicular displays by the Singapore Police Force
Between Feb 11 and 18, the Singapore Police Force (SPF) will showcase some of their tactical vehicles, allowing visitors to learn about how they are deployed in real-life scenarios.
The Special Operations Command (SOC) vehicle is on display on Feb 11 and 12 from 11am to 5.30pm, while the Fast Response car can be viewed from Feb 11 to 18, between 11am and 3pm each day.

2. 4D rides at the XD Theatre
Visitors who are looking for a thrilling experience can give SDC’s 4D multi-sensory rides a try at the XD Theatre. There are two shows available, and the screenings are free of charge.

There will also be three award-winning short films screened at the iWERKS Theatre, including Azza, Gallant, and SQ117.
Timings for the shows at both theatres can be found here.
3. Exclusive bus tours into SAFTI MI
Those interested in getting an exclusive look into the life of an officer cadet, as well as the role of the SAF in the defence and security of Singapore, can hop on a bus tour into SAFTI Military Institute.

The bus tours will be held daily at 3pm on weekdays and at 11am, 1pm, 3pm, and 5pm on weekends, public holidays, and school holidays.
Visitors keen on taking SAFTI MI bus tour must report to the bus bay at least five minutes before the scheduled tour time. Each tour is limited to a maximum of 40 people and admission is on a first-come, first-served basis.
4. REDACTED? Blueprints Trail
SDC’s REDACTED? features a series of visually striking installations that highlight overlooked issues that still plague Singapore, from scams to social stigmas.
Visitors can pick up a trail card to fill in through the exhibition. Once the blueprint is completed, they can then head over to SDC’s souvenir shop to collect a prize.

The exhibition is open from 12pm to 7pm on weekdays and from 11pm to 8pm on weekends, public holidays, and school holidays.
5. Win prizes at the LEGO Play Area
Visitors can build and customise their own city out of LEGOs and learn how to defend it at the “A Day as a Police Officer” LEGO Play Area.
This activity will take place Feb 11, 12, 18 and 19 at the Play Ground Concourse between 12pm to 7pm on weekdays and 11am to 8pm on weekends, public holidays, and school holidays.

Those who join the experience on Feb 11 and 18 between 11am and 3pm also stand a chance to win a city police mission pack polybag worth $12.90 and other LEGO City Police sets.
