Sign-ups for fourth season of Youth Action Challenge now open
Season four of YAC will span over four months and participants can choose from four different themes.
Youths who wish to make a difference in Singapore can now sign up for this year’s Youth Action Challenge (YAC), which will take place from Oct 8, 2022 to Jan 29, 2023.
The Youth Action Challenge brings together like-minded youths aged 15 to 35 in teams to brainstorm and come up with solutions to tackle prevalent societal issues.
It falls under the Singapore Youth Action Plan, which aims to create a home where Singaporeans care for another and get a fair shot at their dreams by 2025.
The fourth season of YAC will look at four themes – mental well-being (peer support, awareness and engagement), environment and sustainability (sustainable lifestyle, rising sea-levels/ coastal protection), inclusivity (race and religion, local-foreigner integration) and support for vulnerable groups.

Teams with successful pitches will be awarded with grants between $5,000 to $50,000, depending on the merits of the pitched project. It will cover elements such as awards, sponsorships, initiatives and other overhead expenses of the project.
All teams will have to implement their projects and utilise the grant by June 2024. Projects that show potential for impact and scale may be considered for subsequent funding under the National Youth Fund (NYF).
Registration is open to Singaporeans and permanent resident youths aged 15 to 35 years old on a first come, first served basis.
Foreigners can also join the competition, but every team should include majority Singaporeans or permanent resident youths.
Those interested can register from now until Sep 11, 5pm.
