Shake Shack to open its sixth outlet at Great World
Set to open in spring 2021, Shake Shack’s latest outlet features a mural by local artist Tobyato.
When Shake Shack first made its entry into the Singaporean market two years ago, Singaporeans flocked over in droves to get a taste of the American fast food chain.
Fast forward to today, Shake Shack has just announced its sixth outlet at Great World.
According to a press release by Shake Shack on Mar 3, this outlet is set to open in spring 2021 in collaboration with local artist Toby Tan to design a mural depicting Great World’s rich history.
Toby, who also goes by Tobyato, had previously worked on commissions by the likes of Netflix, Adidas and Uniqlo.
Built on the former site of one of Singapore’s first amusement parks, the colourful mural is reminiscent of “the infectious, carefree energy and moods of a bygone era.”
The usage of loud colours are meant as a tribute to the amusement park’s lighthearted atmosphere that attracted people of all ages, similar to Shake Shack’s wide range of food, beverages, and welcoming environment.
For those unfamiliar with Shake Shack, the American “roadside” style burger chain made its way into Singapore with its first outlet in Jewel Changi in April 2019. Priding themselves on their Angus beef and Chicken sandwiches, it’s definitely a must-try for every burger lover.
While the store has not opened yet, those interested in the mural can head down to Great World to take a peek!
