Send your appreciation for healthcare workers with Instagram account @sghealthcareheroes
Messages from the public are added into their Highlights on their Instagram page.
There’s been a surge in community cases in Singapore in the past week and this may mean that local healthcare workers will be stretched beyond their limits.
There were several COVID-19 cases affecting healthcare workers in various local hospitals at Tan Tock Seng Hospital, Sengkang General Hospital, Ng Teng Fong Hospital and Changi General Hospital.
This has resulted in some members of the public refusing services to them and shunning them. Thankfully, this does not reflect the thoughts and sentiments of the majority of Singaporeans.
Some Singaporeans have been leaving their appreciation message to healthcare workers, via Instagram account @sghealthcareheroes.
The account was set up in light of the TTSH cluster to honour and show respect to healthcare workers in Singapore for their hard work and sacrifices.
“In light of the recent developments, we would like to create a safer space for our healthcare workers (heroes) for their hard work at the frontline battling the COVID-19 pandemic,” those behind the account wrote.
They have also invited members of the public to leave their heartfelt message, using a template they have created.
Instagram user @zubaidahyusoff gave a shoutout to her healthcare colleagues, friends and family members.
“Thank you for all that you do. Thank you for choosing to be a healthcare professional that requires a whole load of passion,” she added.
A message from @decipheringk read: “Thank you for not giving up, it is because of all your hard work and perseverance that Singapore has made it this far.”
Instagram user @winsical wrote: “Shoutout because you don’t complain that you have to wear the masks non-stop, work 24/7 shifts and basically continue to take care of everybody else when no one is taking care of you. Thank you so much for all that you do!”

@sghealthcareheroes has left the template on its Instagram highlights for people to use and send in encouraging messages for local healthcare workers.
Instagram users are encouraged to tag @sghealthcareheroes in their Instagram Story so that it can be reshared by them. They can also tag their family and friends in the healthcare industry.
Spread the love today for our healthcare heroes with @sghealthcareheroes!
