At first glance, USD Cafe looks like just another quaint cafe, huddled in the heart of Joo Chiat, Katong.

However a closer look will reveal that nothing about it – including the entrance – is ordinary at all.

USD – an abbreviation of upside down – Cafe recently opened its doors on Mar 1.

Adopting a topsy-turvy layout, everything in the cafe is inverted – from the walls to the coffee bar, and even the toilet!

Besides its eccentric interior, the cafe also serves a wide variety of equally interesting items such as Cheesy Salted White Coffee ($7.50), Banana White Coffee ($7.50), and Pandan Cheese Cake ($9).

They also serve light snacks in classic Singaporean style – Kaya Butter Toast ($4), Half Boiled Egg ($3), Pangkor Nasik Lemak ($5) and Portuguese Egg Tart ($3.50).

If you’d rather something more Western, they serve main courses such as Avocado Sour Cream Toast ($12), Japan Skipjack Tuna Flakes Toast ($12), and You Are My Sunshine ($10) which is a sunny-side up egg on toast.

USD Cafe is located at 171 East Coast Road, Santa Grand Hotel, #01-05, Singapore 428877 and is open from Wednesday to Monday from 9am to 6pm.
