Reddit user makes website to find most convenient place for a group to meet
Areas accessible to all postcodes within a time frame will be highlighted in green.
When Singaporean Reddit User/Lifth and his colleagues had difficulties looking for places to have a team lunch, he decided to make a webapp to help groups of people living all over Singapore narrow down the most convenient place for them to meet.
The website comes up with the location using multiple postcodes, transportation type for each individual and a specified travel time. After inputting everyone’s postal code, it will highlight in green the area(s) where everyone can get to in the specified time.
If there are no green highlights, one or more people cannot meet the others on time.
Besides looking for a well-situated place for people to meet, the Reddit user also found out that prospective house-owners can use this website to calculate how accessible different houses are via public transport.
However, he cautioned that the public transport data is about two to three years old, and may not accurately reflect the time it takes to travel.
