Rainy weather forecasted to persist till this weekend

Temperatures are expected to drop to a low of 22 degrees this week.

The current rainy weather in Singapore is expected to continue until the weekend, according to the Meteorological Service Singapore’s (MSS) four-day outlook from Mar 2 to 5.

Although less wet weather was expected in the second half of February, southern Johor and Singapore were affected by a monsoon surge since the morning of Feb 28.

This surge is forecast to persist till Wednesday (Mar 1), with the clouds and light to moderate rain clearing in the evening, according to MSS. 

The daily minimum temperature on Wednesday could dip to around 22 degrees Celsius in some places, with the highest temperature staying at a low 26 degrees Celsius.

Between midnight till mid-morning on Wednesday, rainfall reached up to 104.4mm at Pulau Ubin, 99mm at Pasir Ris and 73.2mm at Toa Payoh. There was more rainfall over the east of Singapore as compared to the west.

As of 10.17am on Wednesday, the lowest temperature in Singapore was 22.6 degrees Celsius at Newton and the highest was 23.9 degrees Celsius at East Coast and Tuas South.

Afternoon showers are also expected on Thursday. 

Thundery showers are expected in the afternoon and evenings from Friday to Sunday, with temperatures ranging from 23 to 31 degrees Celsius.
