It’s International Bubble Tea Day (Apr 30) AKA the perfect excuse for you to treat – or torment – yourself to multiple cups of bubble tea!

Here’s a list of quirky drinks you can try this weekend:

1. Woobbee’s Herbalmint Milk Tea

Four years ago, Woobbee raised eyebrows with its strange concoction, Herbalmint Milk Tea – a drink infused with the popular cough syrup Nin Jiom Pei Pa Koa.

It comes with toppings such as grass jelly, black pearls and aloe vera.

If you’re not a fan of milk tea, you can try the Herbalmint Green Tea or Herbalmint Tea Latte.

For the milk-based drinks, Woobbee recently expanded the Herbalmint series to include more milk options such as Meiji Milk and Oatly Oat Milk (Barista Edition).

Each drink starts from $5. PHOTO CREDIT: INSTAGRAM/@WOOBBEE

You can get a cup from any of the five Woobbee outlets located at Tanjong Pagar, Chinatown Point, Fusionopolis, Tampines North, and Jalan Pemimpin.

In fact, to commemorate National Bubble Tea Day, Woobbee will offer $1 off all large sized drinks from Apr 29 to 30.

2. Takagi Ramen’s Chilli Crab Matcha Macchiato

Restaurant chain Takagi Ramen has taken a bold step into the bubble tea industry with a groundbreaking (and heartbreaking) innovation – Chilli Crab Matcha Macchiato.

Launched on Apr 15, the Chilli Crab Matcha Macchiato is available with either fresh milk or coconut milk. Toppings such as sakura pearls, grass jelly, aloe vera, and pearls are available at an additional $0.50. There’s also brown sugar pearls at an additional $0.80.

If you’re hesitant, you can read our review before giving it a go.

The macchiato series is priced at $5.90 each and can be purchased at all Takagi Ramen outlets.

3. LiHO’s Red Bull Fruit Tea

Are the regular bubble teas not giving you enough sugar rush? Why not add a can of Red Bull to it?

Popular brand LiHO has a collaborative series with Red Bull and features two flavours – Red Bull Honey Calamansi and Red Bull Lychee Rose.

If you’re looking for an energy boost this weekend, LiHO is currently having a promotion for this series. By purchasing four cans of Red Bull from any 7-11, you’ll get a complimentary drink!
