PAssionArts Festival 2023 to feature art installations, performances at 89 Community Arts & Culture Clubs
Themed "Blossom of Colours", the festival will showcase 60 Art Villages from July to September, 2023.
As part of the PAssionArts Festival 2023, members of the public can look forward to 60 Art Villages featuring art installations, workshops and performances at 89 Community Arts & Culture Clubs (CACC) across the island.
Themed “Blossom of Colours”, the festival will also involve 31 pre-festival programmes, engaging 2,700 residents and 200 artists from July to September, 2023.
Organised by The People’s Association (PA), the annual collaborative event features various community partners including schools, Institutes of Higher Learning (IHLs) and interest groups in efforts to connect and bridge communities through arts and culture.
The festival programmes will kick off on Jul 2 from 5pm to 8pm at the Cheng San-Seletar CACC. Its art village will showcase vibrant artworks co-created with its residents including the Buttons UP art display which will feature buttons of varying sizes and colours.

Other festival highlights include the Tape Art Installation at the Bukit Batok East CACC’s Art Village from 6pm to 9pm on Jul 22.

The Tape Art Installation is set to break a new record in the Singapore Book of Records for the largest tape art.
In the coming months, there will also be a variety of activities held at various art villages located across Singapore. Here are some of what you can expect:
July
Visitors can look forward to arts activities and performances at the West Coast, Tampines Central, Radin Mas, Braddell Heights, Ulu Pandan, Clementi and Bukit Batok East CACCs in the month of July.
The West Coast PAssionArts Festival will feature art activities like wall mural painting and community performances by The ETC, The Buskers Boys and Cloud & Party from 9am to 12pm on Jul 2 at the West Coast CACC.
Art Kaleidoscope – PAssionArts Festival 2023 @ Tampines Central will feature a diorama creation workshop, a family canvas art competition as well as an open stage concert band competition for secondary schools at Our Tampines Hub from 9pm to 6pm on Jul 8.
PAssionArts Festival 2023 – Radin Mas Arts Week will take place from Jul 9 to Jul 23 at Bukit Merah Community Centre. It will feature a wall mural painting of flowers and butterflies at Blk 108 Bukit Purmei, a Samsui women stage show by students of Shelton College and a Chinese opera performance.
On Jul 15, visitors can also enjoy a light up event as well as a coffee painting workshop at the Braddell Heights Sports Arena from 6.30pm to 9.30pm.
Held on the same day are a clay flower pot workshop as well as various showcases including a Xinyao, Chinese dance, Indian dance, Wushu and Dikir Barat performance from 10.30am to 1pm at the Ulu Pandan CACC.
On Jul 22, the Clementi CACC will offer various family-centric and multi-racial hands-on art activities such as candle holder painting and flower garland making workshops from 9am to 12pm at the hard court at Clementi Avenue 2.
August
Members of the public can participate in and enjoy arts activities and performances at the Jalan Kayu and Fernvale, Tampines East, Pasir Ris Central, East and West, Nee Soon East, Canberra, Sembawang West, Punggol Coast, Shore and West, Bukit Batok, Tampines West, Bukit Timah, Brickland, Moulmein-Cairnhill and Tampines North CACCs in the month of August.
Primary and secondary performing arts students and IHLs will take the stage at Fernvale Community Club Atrium from 11am to 3.30pm on Aug 5 in celebration of the combined Jalan Kayu and Fernvale PAssionArts Festival.
Art activities like mini canvas painting as well as a live performance by local band The Jumpstart will take place at the Tampines East Community Club on Aug 5.
The combined Pasir Ris Central, East and West festival on Aug 5 at Pasir Ris Town Park will feature a pebbles painting workshop, an augmented reality effect display as well as live performances by Little Band Plus and interest groups like DJ, Kompang and Ukulele.
On Aug 6, in collaboration with Buskers’ Association, Nee Soon East CACC will feature a street performance at the Oasis Waterpark and Hardcourt in front of Blk 307, Yishun Ring Road.
On the same day, art competitions for children below 12 years old as well as a windmill art display will be held at Canberra Park and the Woodlands Galaxy Community Club respectively.
Event goers can look forward to doodling on a large wooden display on Aug 9 at One Punggol as part of the combined Punggol Coast, Shore and West festival programmes.
A 3m by 2m landscape merlion art installation created with recycled materials will also be featured at the Mayflower Mall from 8am to 11am on Aug 9.
The Bukit Batok CACC will present a woven tapestry upcycled art installation at the Bukit Batok Skypeak Outdoor Space on the same day.
On Aug 12, the Tampines West CACC will organise art activities like a batik painting and tote bag design workshop at Play T West.
On the same day, participants can look forward to a graffiti art and painting workshop at the Firefly park as well as a 2m by 1.5m plastic bottle lights art installation from 6.30pm to 8.30pm at the Open field at Blk 816B, Keat Hong Link.
The Moulmein-Cairnhill CACC will feature bukit art booths as well as a variety show and live band performance on Aug 19 at the Birch Road field.
Visitors can also marvel at a tree art installation featuring plastic bottles illuminated with LED lights on Aug 26 at the N4 Courtyard between Blk 480 and Blk 484, Tampines Avenue 9.
September
In the month of September, residents can look forward to arts activities and performances at the Marine Parade, Jurong Spring, Tampines Changkat, Aljunied GRC and Hougang SMC, Kampong Glam, Whampoa, Sengkang North, Nanyang and Telok Blangah CACCs.
Held at the Joo Chiat Community Club Hall and Foyer on Sep 9 is the Peranakan Fiesta Arts Village. It will feature felt shoes and clay food art workshops, as well as a Peranakan Cardboard House installation from 4pm to 7pm.
The Jurong Spring CACC will offer art booths such as balloon sculpture, body paint, Chinese Calligraphy and percussion and harmonica performances on Sep 16 at the Jurong Spring Community Club.
The Night Festival with Black and Pink Theme on Sep 16 will feature a large floral-themed fabric and paper art installation at the open space outside Tampines Mart.
On Sep 23, visitors can participate in Chinese fan painting, calligraphy and fan art workshops at Kovan Hub as well as lantern-making activities at ZhongShan Park.
Various Xin Yao performances will be held by the Whampoa CACC at the open area outside Boon Keng MRT Exit B on Sep 30.
A snake and dragon art installation formed by painted pebbles will be showcased at the Sengkang CC on the same day.
Hands-on activities like batik painting as well as a giant lantern sculpture will be featured at the hard court in front of Blk 953, Jurong West Street 91.
Canvas art painting workshops, an interactive musical performance as well as a big clay art curation display will also be available at the Telok Blangah Community Club.
