Following the battle royale style format of Tetris 99 and Super Mario Bros. 35, Nintendo has launched Pac-Man 99, a multiplayer game that allows gamers to compete with 98 other opponents.

The new game is exclusive to Nintendo Switch Online and its subscribers can play it online for free.

Like previous Pac-Man games, all you have to do to win is try to eat Power Pellets, which will help you eat the ghosts. However, if you come in contact with the ghosts, you will “die”. The last surviving player will win the game.

At first glance, the new game looks like the original eight-bit classic game, but it actually holds eight special preset strategies to use to beat other opponents. By switching strategies at the right timing, you can gain an advantage over your 98 rivals to become the top player.

At additional costs, paid content is available to subscribers who want to play the game offline. It includes different modes such as a CPU vs. mode and score attack options. Players can also change the look of the game with custom songs and themes based on other Namco games like Galaga, Xevious, and Dig Dugand.

Grab your Nintendo switch and rise to victory to become the ultimate Pac-Man!
