Over 20 free sports activities, competitive try-outs offered at Choa Chu Kang Sports Centre Jun 17-18
The offerings are part of the HealthierSG Fest @ North West.
Over 20 free sports activities including swimming and obstacle courses will be offered at health and fitness event HealthierSG Fest @ North West from Jun 17 to 18.
Taking place at Choa Chu Kang Sports Centre, the new flagship event aims to promote healthy living in the North West District.
Supported by ActiveSG as well as Team Nila, the sports festival also aims to encourage the north west community to “embrace the differences between individuals”.
Participants can look forward to a variety of activities for all ages and abilities, including sport inflatables, throwback kampung games, water activities like water volleyball and even wheelchair basketball.
The event will kick off with a 4km brisk-walking session on the first day and a 10km running session on the second day, followed by water sports activities like kayaking and water trampolining.
Families can also take part in the Family Telematch in teams consisting of one adult and one child between the ages of 5 and 12 years old.
The parent-child duo will be tasked to complete various station games like Ping Pong Ball, Three-Legged Race and Gunny Sack – the top 10 teams with the best timings will win a prize.
Each participating child will receive a complimentary snack pack. The match will take place from 9.30am to 10.30am on Jun 17. Interested participants can register at the OnePA website.
In the Fun Swim activity, players can enjoy water activities like ring float racing, water basketball and water volleyball at the Choa Chu Kang Swimming Complex.
The activity will take place from 9am to 12pm on Jun 17. Admission is free for all sports activities except Fun Swim, which will require a fee of $2 per participant.
Participants can also look forward to various leaderboard challenges like Chapteh, Hammer Smash, Hug-a-ton, Planking, Pull-Up and the Punch Challenge, where they stand a chance to win up to $20 in supermarket vouchers .
HealthierSG Fest @ North West will also feature sports displays and try-outs for activities like Zumba, FitnessX, Dance Fit and Qigong.
As of Jun 15, the sports competitions have reached full registration capacity. However, event goers can still spectate the tournaments.
