North West Community Development Council (CDC) honoured 117 individuals, organisations and school partners at the North West Volunteers’ Awards 2022.

These awards recognise the efforts and dedication of individuals and volunteers who are determined in serving the less privileged communities, especially during the pandemic.

North West CDC will confer five awards, which include North West WeCare Volunteer Award, North West WeCare Partner Award, North West Special Recognition Award, North West Outstanding All Rounder Student Award, and North West Outstanding School Partner Award.

This year is the first time that the North West WeCare Partner Award is introduced to the corporate partners for their outstanding commitment to the community.

Out of the 43 schools that received the North West Outstanding School Partner Award, six of those schools received a Platinum award, in recognition of their outstanding efforts in providing an opportunity for students to contribute back to society. This is the highest number of schools receiving such an award to date.

One of the Platinum awardees is Fuchun Secondary School, which participated in 11 North West CDC programmes. The school also sent more than 560 students to serve the community, benefiting more than 10,000 beneficiaries. This is their first time receiving the award.

The North West Volunteers’ Awards 2022 was held physically at the University Culture Centre Theatre at the National University of Singapore for the first time in two years. This is CDC’s first large-scale physical event since the pandemic started.
