This year’s run of the Nordic Film Festival will be held from Sep 7 to 16 at The Projector.

The event is a collaboration with the Embassy of Denmark, the Embassy of Finland, the Embassy of Iceland, the Royal Norwegian Embassy and the Embassy of Sweden.

Those interested can choose among a curated selection of five Scandinavian films that were previously unreleased in Singapore.

Some notable titles that will be screened include Nordic film Sick of Myself, Danish film Riders of Justice and Swedish film Burn All My Letters.

Award-winning film Sick of Myself is the opening film of the event. It follows the story of a couple – Signe and Thomas – whose relationship has turned competitive after Thomas gains success as a contemporary artist.

In retaliation, Signe attempts to regain her status by creating a new persona hell-bent on attracting attention and sympathy.

Riders of Justice is an action and comedy film starring esteemed Danish actor Mads Mikkelsen. His character Markus, embarks on a mission after he suspects his wife was murdered following a tragic train accident.

The film has received awards for Best Supporting Actor, Best Actress, Best Original Score and Best Visual Effects at the 2021 Danish Film Awards.

Swedish film Burn All My Letters is centred on an affair between a young writer and a passionate woman who was married to an older, more established author. It is inspired by real events and is based on Alex Schulman’s novel of the same title.

All five films of the event will be screened at the Golden Mile Tower outlet, at only one showtime per film. Tickets are available for purchase via The Projector’s website.
