Nissin releases new limited edition fish head curry cup noodles from Apr 4

Here’s yet another local favourite dish you can try as instant noodles.

Nissin launched a new fish head curry flavour of cup noodles on Apr 4 that features a soup base inspired by the actual dish.

The soup base is mildly spicy and flavoured with stewed fish, coconut milk and lemongrass. The noodles also come with other ingredients such as cabbage, tau pok, fishball and spring onions.

Initially, Nissin introduced the new flavour on Apr 1, which caused people to speculate that it was an April Fool’s joke. One netizen commented on their Facebook post: “Please make it real. Read the comments. A lot of people want to try this flavour.”

In a press release on Apr 4, Nissin confirmed that the flavour was not an April Fool’s joke.

Nissin previously made its own cup noodle interpretations on cuisines around the world, with flavours such as Korean Army Stew and Japanese Cheese Curry among its products.

The Fish Head Curry cup noodles flavour is exclusive to Singapore. It is available at major supermarkets and convenience stores including Fairprice and Don Don Donki from $1.50 a cup, while stocks last.
